Nothin' Much.....

Nothing much going on here lately.  We were conserving hot water until our propane was delivered.  Someone forgot to check the tank, but thankfully we prepaid last fall and delivery was the same day.  However, that meant dirty dishes piled up, ha ha!  Oh boy, I guess we'll keep a better eye on it. At least we didn't run completely out.

I felt bad for the guy delivering the propane too.  He had to walk through a 4 foot drift of snow around the garage to do it.  The snow is slowly melting here.  I've been busy shoveling snow away from the house foundation, garage doors, entryway etc.

Our propane company pulled in the drive again yesterday.  I went out with our receipt and told him they already filled us up.  He wasn't happy about it, but that's not my problem.  Their company had routes double booked I guess.

We are melting away here.  Love the weather, but the one side of our drive was pretty much flooded.  I had to tell Daughter T to not come over unless she had rain boots.  She opted to stay home.  Later last night the water receded.  Thankfully, it's melting at a nice pace, but a muddy mess as predicted.

The chickens are going stir-crazy.  We are upon coyote mating season.  I can't let them out and alone for too long at a time, and the gigantic snow drift in their run has not melted.  The younger ones absolutely hate the snow, ha ha!

After we ran out of propane on Thanksgiving day we opted for the "budget plan". We sign up in August and pay a set amount each month based on the previous year's usage and then the company makes regular deliveries... they guarantee that we won't run out. We never have and if we use less than they predict they roll the extra over into the next year and adjust the price. We have to keep the path to the tank clear or they won't deliver.

Our chickens are locked up at the moment due to Avian flu that is about at the moment. They are not happy but sadly there is nothing we can do about it. So glad you managed to get the prophane delivered.
Debi, that is a great plan. We don't have that option, but we can pre-pay in the fall with a good price. We do have to call and have it delivered. My husband sort of made a path for the guy, but I'll remember to shovel now if we do have snow when it's delivered.
mamasmercantile, sorry to hear there is bird flu there. My chicken coop needs cleaned so badly, and there is still a huge snow drift in their run. I have to wait for it to melt or they will climb it and get out while I'm cleaning. Hopefully this weekend I can clean it. There is also the matter of getting straw from the barn, but if the drifts melt it should work out.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
