Sunday Sunrise

While most folks are out buying fall mums for their garden, I was out searching for clearance priced rose bushes. Why?

From the Gratitude Journal. . .

Today, I am thankful for: ~for t he wonderful lilac aroma wafting throughout the outdoors (and which I brought indoors too). ~for God's guidan ce , and giving me the knowle dge to know how to cut back on my stress with gardening by do ing a little eve ry day vs. all of it in one long day, and leaving the dirty dishes for the kids and looking the other way .... giving me the strength to get up extra e arly to avoid the heat ...giving me a bo u n tiful garden ... ~for the color s that are re appe aring on the front porch.   ~for the spearmint in my garden and iced tea made with it. ~for the pounds I'll lose this summer with all this gard en/yard work to do. ~ for our dogs, who al erted us of a group of people on the highway (at 2:30 am) , who had some sort of drivin g mishap.   ~for Timmy, the barn cat who showed up on our porch a y ear or so ago.  And w ho always makes me smil e.  He plops wherever he wants, as if he has had the mo...

Surprise Delivery ~ Busy Saturday

In my h ustle and bustle of daily duties, including the terrible habit I have of worrying, a delivery arr ived to my door. A very s p ecial delivery . A beautiful bouquet of  flowers, that were arranged in a beautiful vase.   Smelling and seeing them is just the pre scripti on I needed for stress.  They came from my sister-in-law, who sent me a very in spir ing note , rega rding her enjoyment of reading my blog. S aturday was a busy day around here too.   The gir ls started their day by working on the horse fencing and building a make-shift stall with what ever they could reuse .   I had to make a trip to town for horse fee d, wood pellets and pick up something at my broth er's.  Then it was back home to unl oad the se cond truck load of wood .  I still haven't been feeling good, but the elderberry is definitely helping.
