Savory Soup ~ Snow

I tried a new white bean soup recipe - White Bean Soup with Greens and Rosemary.  I found it in a book my Dad gave me years ago (Super Foods Rx), but there are many versions of it online as well.  The rosemary in this soup makes it taste wonderful, along with a pinch of cayenne.

Sunset ~ Sick Hubby ~ Another Cold Blast

Sharing a sunset photo from Sunday evening.  Just a few minutes after taking the photos, the beautiful pinks completely disappeared. Thankfully, I have some loose leaf elderflower tea on hand.  Hubby is home sick. You know when men get sick (at least mine), they turn into blabbering babies.  I may even drain off one of my jars of elixir early (if the tea doesn't help).  

Bean Baking Day ~ Hubby Gets A Flat

Today is a bean baking day.  I have two crock po ts going - one with 2 lb s. of black beans, and one with 2 lbs. of kidney beans.  These w ill be frozen and used for meals to cut the co st ( and un healthy ingredients) in canned beans.   Last night was a short night for sleep for three of us - hubby, me and my son.  He called at 12:40am, and said he had a flat tire on the highway, just outside of his work.  He works about 1 hour from home.   My son and I drove up , brin gin g a jack and tire.  However, the jack was not stron g enou gh for his Explorer.  Luck i ly, Mei jer was op en at th at hour, and we had to buy a new jack.  Once the tire was on , they needed to put air in it (something he didn't think to a sk me to do before we left home).  Luckily , he has a n air compressor in his vehic le.  We made it home about 3:00am, and I woke up with major allergy/sinus issues.  I could not see from one eye, and used m...
