New Recipes ~ New Rug

I told a few folks that I was "taking Sunday off."  Ha!  Well, it sort of happened.  I tried several new recipes in my "try it" pile.  First, our super bowl food yesterday: Spicy Thai Chicken Wings.  Made using my home canned habanero-apricot jelly, freshly grated ginger, and fresh cilantro.  Delicious.  Different, and not real spicy as we thought.

Sunshine to Snow

Although we had frigid temps here, the sun shined brightly all day long.  That is always a huge bonus. However, the white stuff returned.  I just want to dial up Mother Nature and put in my order.  If it was that easy, right? At least the animals can go about their business and not freeze their paws.

From the Homesteading Journal . . .

. . . made my first homemade ginger ale and loved it!  I plan to make more of this (more so for health reasons) for a refreshing summer treat.  There are many recipes on the I nternet.  I also made a hot ginger tea.  The recipe is from my sister's I ndian cookbo ok.  I am enjoying this, in hopes to speed up my recovery from this col d/sinus /cough /ches t pain ill ness.
