Friday Finish ~ A Molasses Cookie Experiment ~ Goat Treats

I took the advice of so many thoughtful folks, and took the day off from the garden Thursday.  Totally felt guilty after seeing the weather forecast too.  Winter will roll in quick and I am far from ready.  I still took the day off.  I donned the apron instead.  And I did a little handiwork. And downed a tincture while I baked (for my swollen glands, slight sore throat).  I had my tea afterwards. I finished a project and I never thought I would.  Especially this time of season. I started this back before the 4th of July, and well, it's done! I'll link up with Jill for "Friday Finish" once she has posted. As for the cookie experiment. . . Calling all of those who love a crispy, crunchy molasses cookies!  Do you have a tried and true recipe? I do not.    So I tried one (Sally's Baking Addition online - Crisp Molasses Cookies).  Only I used 1 cup Einkorn flour, and 1 cup regular (organic) all-purpose, and local sorgh...

Overnight Breakfast Recipe

Sharing the recipe as promised.  I'll get the sweet potato pie recipe up soon too.   You are getting two blogposts today, due to this. . . Woke up to this again.  Rain.  I can't do garden work, work on the barn siding, barn rubble, nor weed the last of the flower bed either.  The rain has been playing havoc on getting outdoor work completed.  And because I'm out of bacon fat, I don't want to roast the last 8 pumpkins either.  No way am I roasting them without roasting the seeds.  My whiskey-bacon pumpkin seeds went super duper fast.  Lick-ity split fast.  I'm out of bacon and whiskey.  Oh, don't worry.  I'll be tearing apart my vacuum sweeper and tackling some cleaning, getting another article written, and possibly some porch time and handiwork in the mean time. Back to the recipe.

Tuesday Tidbits

If you think I crossed off my to-do list yesterday (Happy Homemaker Monday post), you are incorrect.  And you are probably happy to see we all can't get everything done in a day, ha ha! I got half of the carrots dug up.  They are not all the best in size, but there are plenty.  Some are fairly large, so we are happy regardless.  I still have half the row to dig up.  I'll be weighing these this morning.  Most will go into the freezer, considering we do not have a basement, root cellar or other.  More popcorn was brought in, but

Steel Cut Oat Patties

When I my oldest daughter asked me for the recipe to make my steel cut oat patties, I had to think about when I last made them.  I also had to remember where my recipe was. Then, certain that I had posted it on my blog, I spent the day searching for it.   Nope.  I did not blog about it. So, today you are graced with yet another steel cut out recipe.  To make these, you will need to prepare the oats one day prior to frying them into patties.

Mom's (Make Ahead) Dried Beef Casserole ~ Only Healthier

Today I am sharing a family recipe that came from my Mom.  Only this time, I made it using homemade cream of mushroom soup .
