Happy Homemaker Monday

I am joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. I will link up when she posts. The weather . . . Today high is 54 degrees, but all week we'll mostly be in the 40's and more rain possibly today. As I look outside my window . . . Somewhat cloudy. Right now I am. . . Making coffee. Thinking and pondering . . . Trying to make plans on when and what we need from the hardware store - flooring, trim, supplies for the chicken coop, hallway flooring etc. On my TV today . . . Nothing. Listening to . . . Possibly country later today. On my lunch plate . . . Have no idea yet. On my dinner plate . . . Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Home canned tomato basil soup. On the menu . . . I will be working on this early today.  The only down fall on going away for the weekend, but I did wash the bedding and had the bed made before we left, so that is off the to-do list this week. What I have so far: Breakfast:  Fritatta, Sweet potato egg cups Dinners: -crock pot pork chops, oven roasted veggie...

Friday Ta-Da's

First, I have to share, as this is week 3 of my changes in meals, teas and exercise routine.  I weighed in this morning!!  I lost 2.6 lbs. this past week.  I know it won't always be that high, but am ecstatic, because I didn't even walk my 2 mile hike yesterday, and still lost the winter weight.  Here is why I didn't have time to walk, although I could have if I had gotten my coffee down faster...

Lola is Not Happy ~ Road Trip

I finally found a chicken saddle/apron for Lola.  Sparta has ripped out her backside feathers completely.  She is the only chicken so far, that is like this.   Lo la d oes not like her saddle/apron.  O nce the kids put it on her, she went "bananas" and squawked and squawked .  She went running a round, trying to get it off .  The other chickens followe d and chased, wondering what that thing was on her.  In the photo you can see they are all staring at her, in curi osity. However, by evening, she was still ups et.  I hop e she has gotten used to it by this morning, and will agree to wear it. Hubby was called in again for more repa irs at work.  This time it was 3:50am.  He's still not home yet, and it will be a long Sunday for him. Today we have a road trip scheduled.    A Year of Quotes: "You have to have a dream, so you can get up in the morning."   ~ Billy Wilder

Accidental Road Trip

I don't think my husband will ever let me crochet in the car again. He he!  We ended up going South vs. East over the weekend, and we had to stop to get directions.  I trusted myself with my travel journal, and we accidentally, missed the correct exit.  However, it was all good.   This guy wasn't in a hurry to leave, so he's in my photo (sorry guy).  See that cabinet in the truck?  This is all a funny story.   We saw this antique store, once we were on the right road to our location.  We decided to stop and have a "look-see."  While we were shopping, and oohing and ahhhing the entire time, this guy came in to buy that large cabinet you see in the truck.  There were two women working, and they were on their phones attempting to get this guy help, but no one was available.  Hubby overheard, and offered to help.  Thankfully, he was there to help him out.  This was in Centerberg, Ohio.  So if you ever get the...
