It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays. I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.
Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. It's hard to believe it's the last day of August.
I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog. Weird things are happening.
Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords. Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.
Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
The advent gift idea was a spontaneous idea that popped into my head, but it will be the last year to do this. It was more expensive than we anticipated (and more time consuming), but I am coming up with ideas to make some of the gifts too. I do hope they enjoy every gift, and I do pray that it instills the holiday spirit too.
I wrapped 13 of the advent gifts, and simply added a circle label where I write the day of the month on them to be opened. I had plans to tie leftover bits of yarn around them, but that did not happen. Either way, only 11 more to go. Each one is a useful item, and a few for fun, but mostly useful. Some are Christmas themed as well.

This reminds me I need to get Hanukah gifts ready for a special person. Useful being the operative word! I like the idea of useing a dot sticker to indicate the day.
And because I will need to mail them I need to get them bought and wrapped pretty soon, and get them sent before the big holiday rush.
I’m using my phone but I still see your profile at the end of your post.
I had a 2000 page visit and the numbers are growing. I double checked my settings - I made sure I was blocked from search engines. I’m also getting referrals from places like Sega and other strange places. I don’t like it either.
I’m thinking very seriously of have a personal blog where I share and have custom readers. I noticed today another blogger said she was converting her blog to custom readers. I would keep my regular blog with no personal information. And I might as well add google ads and see how much I can make. A personal blog should be private and personal with custom readers in this world of scammers.
I’m conflicted because I really don’t like too much change these days.
I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you mentioning this because I wouldn’t have noticed and done some checking.
I am working toward a few Christmas gifts to put in stockings! Your cord keeper is a really good idea!
Annie in the kitchen, thanks. I won't need to mail mine, but will need to deliver them maybe. Time is a ticking for sure.
Debby at My Shasta Home I don't know how I even noticed it either, but I think I may go to a custom version. I think with that version you invite the readers via their email? Not sure, but yes, looking into it. Google owns blogger, so we do not own our blog, as they can do whatever they want apparently. If you find a new platform or other way to use blogger please share.
Far Side of Fifty, thanks. I am hoping the non-sew snaps last, but I may have to start sewing on metal snaps. I guess I'll find out, but they are very helpful and useful.
Christmas is fast approaching. I can’t believe it.
I wish I was half as productive as you with preparing gifts! All of my summer crafty type projects took a back seat to the garden this year. Not complaining about that, but having to set project plans aside always makes me sigh.
I never heard a peep from google about a gmail data breach. I wonder why. They recently took away one of my gmail accounts and wouldn't give it back. Inconvenient.
Leigh, okay that is weird they took one of your gmail accounts. Crazy things going on since AI for sure. I can't believe much anymore either.
