Temporary Plan ~ Random Tidbits

We literally sat around until almost 11am Saturday morning, tossing around what we'd do and when.  It was that cold out. Saturday we went shopping for more car parts, picked up chicken feed, made a quick stop at Mom's, and spent time on the phone seeing if any of the boys could help work on the car today.

The stop at Mom's was quick due to her not feeling well.  Her friend wants to look at my crocheted bookmarks, so I did a pick up of cash for some already sold items, and handed her the bookmarks.  I hope she feels better soon.  This weather is hard on us.

Check this out!  If you crochet, these are on sale at Mary Maxim for $3.99!  At least they were on sale. I haven't gone back to see if they are still at that price.  The heart charm comes in any color of birth month.  I know it's not "silver" but I've never seen this before.  I left it in my online shopping cart for a few days and him-hawed (shipping was awful).  I got an email for a free shipping on anything, so I bought myself one.  Happy Valentine's Day to me.

Hope your mom is feeling better soon. I love that charm, although I never crochet these days.

I buzzed on over there, my birth month is out of stock, the story of my life. The items will be discontinued. Good that you got your charm when you did. I'll keep looking....
Faith, you are welcome. It comes with a necklace, but could be put on a charm bracelet too.
Thanks Carol. The charm necklace is very cute.
Faith, sorry you couldn't get one. They are hard to find too.

A charming necklace. Unfortunately I haven't retaught myself how to crochet again one handed. I will some day. Now I just knit.
Thank you mamasmercantile and Cockeyed Jo

Your charm is beautiful.
For Valentine's Day, I was getting ready for a colonoscopy. I began fasting the 15th and had to stop taking pain meds the 15th, so by the time I was ready for my test on the 17th, I was in fine shape - tired, hungry, and just not happy at all. I went on with the test only to have the doctor to come out after to tell me the colon wasn't empty yet (how could it not be???) and that he wanted me to fast and drink the crap another 24 hours, and come back the next day. I told him NO, that I live about 40 miles away and don't drive, and arranging transportation was a hassle for me and for whoever agrees to take me.
So I came home and emailed my GP to update her and ask her to send me an at-home test.
Since the test, A retired RN friend of mine said the whole thing sounded weird to me. Why didn't they do an enema, etc. I don't know, but I'm wondering if they wanted me to come back a second time simply because the VA would pay for it. GRRR...
So, that's how my Valentine's Day went. ROFLOL
Love you all.
God bless.

RB, my Mom had that test done, and it's definitely not fun to fast and drink that stuff. I agree, they probably wanted more money. Grr.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
