...and in with a new one. It's not handmade, but it will inspire me to learn some day.
The older one will go in the camper, on the porch, or used in someone's car this winter - nothing wasted.
Looking at the calendar, we should have fall planted the last weekend in July. I don't think we are going to attempt it now that we are in August. I will, at some point, get out there and clean it all out, but I can wait for cooler weather.
Son made it home just fine, but his luggage went to Philadelphia (even though his layover was in Dallas). The luggage finally arrived late into the evening (after dark), so it's all good.
Yesterday, while he slept, I canned. Today, I'm back in the kitchen - more jam. I need to mosey on out, and see if I have any more tomatoes. Today looks like a slower paced day, which I am looking forward to.

I like the idea of quilts in the camper. I've been looking at some of the 'extras' around here, trying to decide what will go where!
I'd like quilts in the camper-- Honey told me he wanted to use paper-plates in the camper the other day.
JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU KNOW SOMEONE! I'm not for paper in the camper. We won't need many dishes as it will only be the two of us, Most of the time. I think some pretty, cheap, thrifted dishes are in order. ;)

Patricia, we keep dishes in the camper, along with two dish tubs and dish soap. We use bedding vs. sleeping bags to.
Both quilts are very pretty. I make what's called "cheater" quilts, using patchwork patterned fabric or something with a strong set pattern that I then embroider batting to the back of following the pattern. Depending upon who's getting it, what state they live in and how cold it gets, I may use two layers of batting or only one.
Not long ago, one of our sisters and I were reminiscing about when the ladies in the old days had different window coverings and bed coverings for summer and winter. Winter's was usually heavy chenille bedspreads with brocade or velvet drapes to keep out winter cold; summer was often seersucker bedspreads with cotton curtains to let breezes flow through. Wonder when all that stopped. Probably when central air and heat came into fashion, cause it was a good idea.

RB, we do rotate our bedding via the weather here, but not the curtains. I probably should. My grandparent's parents quilted, but I have yet to learn. I was recently talking to an Amish woman and she quilted many blankets but did not know how to knit or crochet.
I learned it all at the knees of various elder women in our family. Funny thing is, because I was facing them when learning, I often do things left handed when I'm strongly right handed, because that's what I saw when I watched. It never dawned on any of them that I was doing it left handed until someone noticed one day. Then it was set into my head and too late to change. Doesn't matter anyway, looks the same. LOL
