Happy Homemaker Monday

Normally I leave Christmas lights up until January 1st, but this year they are coming down early. We woke up to a lot of rain and cold weather today.  More rain tomorrow.

Yes, my ankle is still a bit swollen. I'm still doing foot soaks but today I need to get some things done around the house.

I'm joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

I'll link up when she posts.

The weather . . .
55°F/33°F and lots of rain, possibly snow tomorrow.

How I am feeling this morning . . .
Started the day in a bad mood.  Hopefully that will change.

On my mind . . .
Trying to just focus on what needs done today.

What I am wearing . . .
Cozy clothes.

On my reading pile . . .

On today's to-do list . . .

-put dishes away
-master bath
-vacuum carpets

What I am listening to . . .

Something fun to share . . .
I finally found, ordered and received my handmade (USA made) pepper scoop.  It took some digging, lots of emails, and I finally got one that was NOT made in China.  I was told it is their top seller too.

On the menu this week . . .
Lots of leftovers

Looking around the house . . .
There is a lot to clean up yet.

Prayer list . . .

Hope you are in a better mood now. Cozy clothes are always nice. I've never heard of a pepper scoop. Interesting. Hope you have a wonderful last week of the year!

You did quite a bit on your to do list... and with a bum foot too. Remember to rest a bit in between chores. I've never heard of a pepper scoop before... I learn something new every day! Hope your mood improved as the day went on... it's hard to be cheery when you are hurting. I hope your foot is back to normal very soon. Have a great week!
Jean, thanks. I learned about the pepper scoop by watching the Italian Mary Ann cook on Create TV. I emailed the show and found the site to buy one.
Debi, thanks. I'm doing 2 soaks a day with my ankle. I try to stay off of it as much as possible.

Pepper scoop? had not heard of that, it is beautifully made. Hope you are feeling better.

Have a great week
Luludou, I saw the scoop on a cooking channel and emailed them. I like to freeze stuff peppers when the peppers are ready to harvest. I am told it's their best seller.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
