Nothing....

I got nothin' today.  Everything on the radio or TV is virus this and virus that.   Yesterday, although good weather day for a motorcycle ride, I had a scheduled grocery pick up.

I'm sort of mad/sad/depressed.  Hubby set up a ride for take out and I couldn't go.  I was told I'd get a ride after they all returned and go get take out.  Didn't happen.

They must have had 10 bikes too.  They were to return early, but nope.  They all had to get something to eat, so I made dinner for me and the girls and pouted on the porch.  I was pretty livid as I need my sanity saved for months now.  Oh, and Hubby lost my leather gloves yesterday, so no ride today.  Today it'll be only in the lower 50's and rain.  Just great.

Here's last night's dinner - Chicken Spaghetti (before it was baked).  I was too upset to add a side veggie.  Just mentally drained right now.

Sorry you had a rough day. I seem to alternate between feeling fine at home and then a little cloud of despair sets in for at least a day...then it passes. Such strange times.

Sorry Kristina! Hope you are feeling better today! When I get crabby I find getting outdoors for walk or even a sit will fix me up. I have been known to take a stool out and sit among my chickens!

Hang in there, Kristina. This crisis, especially the lockdown aspects of it, affect us all in different ways. You get angry. Me...I have been sleeping more than usual - avoidance, I suppose. But this, too, shall pass. We may be in a long, dark tunnel right now, but if you look closely, there is a light at the end of it.

What a crappy day - I can imagine you are climbing the walls there and a bit of fresh air and a change of scenery would have been wonderful.

I try and avoid all the bad news television but we have watched lots of history, archaeology, antiques and collectables, countryside and wildlife programmes. We've also discovered a new series called Carnival Row, which is total escapism - imagine Fae folk (Fairies, folk with sheeps' curled horns, centaurs and ordinary folk whose world they are not popular in. Different anyway and Orlando Bloom stars, so worth watching just for him!

Today I saw the first Swallows, coming in with the help or a warm Southerly wind. They REALLY made my day and Ican't wait for "our" stable Swallows and the ones who live in the farm buildings next door to arrive.

I was so sorry to hear about your Mom being out of food, while the neighbor didn't even take the time to check in with her.

We are in our 70s, have four neighbors in their 20s to 40s, yet not one of them has inquired about us while we are outside doing yardwork! I always seem to have enough in the cupboard or frozen extras from previous prepared meals, so we're good. But, just a holler across the street ...dahh. We also have a couple vacant homes across the street; the owner did keep his distance the other day to say, "Are you both all right?"

Other than that gentleman, we have had no inquiries other than our daughter and grandchildren in Ohio; family in New York, only after I called them. I gave up Facebook for Lent, so don't know of other family members on how they are doing ...so, yeah, a little disappointed in so-called neighbors.

But, please send our regards to your Mom to keep her safe and well supplied. If you send along her address, there might be a card of cheer or a goody box, if and when I am able to get out. (I'm Mary in Georgia ...you have my email address).

So sorry you didn't get your "ride" but we're all praying for better days ahead. Take care, be safe, wash, wash, wash.

Em
Thank you all! You are my best cheer squad! Seriously!

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
