Random Tidbits

I decided to use those extra granny squares and make a matching washcloth for the bathroom.  I only had to make a few to finish this.  The yarn is back in the closet until the other projects are done.  It saved me from having to make another hand towel (at least for now).

What's on the breakfast plate?

Two delicious farm eggs, sprinkled with garden grown chives and homemade bread slathered with home canned sweet potato butter.  Those eggs tasted so good.  Probably because they were the last two in the house.

I've been marking a few recipes in this borrowed cookbook (I love the library).  I think any one of us could have written it too.  It goes by the seasons.  I found a few goodies, and I have to send the book back.

Remember this project?  The granny square baby blanket?  iiiiiiittttttttt'sssssss backkkkk (in my best sing-song voice).  Just after I got those recipes taken care of, I did my best to put some time into sewing in those ends.  I am crocheting one day, and the next chance I get to work on it, sewing in the ends - 150 completed, 42 more to go.   I just had to switch projects for awhile.  The other one was making me go nuts.

I am getting other work completed - the popcorn is completely off the cobs and in jars now.  The cobs are saved for campfire startersI even made a bowl to enjoy right after that job was finally (finally) done.

As for the walnuts?  They are still on the table, and slowly getting cracked.

Your crochet work is so pretty Kristina! Maybe I'll try a little crochet today myself!! That book looks really interesting, I'm going to look for it. Your popcorn looks delicious. I have a recipe for homemade Cracker Jacks...I just have to get myself in gear to make it. We might have a movie night tonight so it'll be the perfect time! Hope you're feeling good today and not so stressed. I'm craving eggs now :)

I love eggs for breakfast...yum! I also find that when I have eggs for breakfast I seem to have lots more energy too. I love your granny squares. I need to weave in some ends on my Beatrix Potter blanket before there are too many more. I wish our library was as nice as yours....it's okay but not much of my type of books so I just stopped going. I order from Thrift Books and get Kindle book deals.
How neat to have your own popcorn! It's such a great inexpensive and low call snack except I always have to put butter on mine! LOL!

Isn't it amazing how there is ALWAYS something else to do? I mean I love my life but, holy moley, is there no end??? :o}

Those colors, purple and yellow, are so pretty together. I know they're opposites on the color wheel, but never saw them put together in a granny square before, and I love it.
Windy out here again today, but not as bad as yesterday and last night. It sounded like banshees circling the house last night. Brrrrrrrrr...
After 60s & 70s last week, we might get snow tomorrow. That's Spring in NC.
Wednesday night I was hungry but didn't want to turn out the whole kitchen for a meal. I got to thinking about what I really wanted to eat and made something I haven't had in years - a scrambled egg sandwich on lightly toasted bread with Duke's mayo. YUM!!! Was telling an elderly lady at the store about it. She'd bought bananas and grapes and said that was going to be her supper, but when I told her about my egg sandwich, she went back and bought some Duke's and said that's what she was going to have for supper too. Odd how sometimes we forget some of the simplest pleasures.
Prayers everyone's having a great weekend, and a safe one too.
God bless.

Rain, the book has some good stuff in it.
Sam I Am, I make our popcorn in a whirley popper on my stovetop, and use a bit of coconut oil on it. Yum.
Mama Pea, I think we have so much to do, so we don't sit idle too much, ha ha!
RB, when a yarn business closed for good, I could only get those colors of yarn in that thickness. It makes a wonderful hand towel and washcloth, but I only have those colors to work with. I will have to look for that yarn weight when I run out of these colors.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
