Our Entire Saturday

Would you want this in your backyard?  For well over 10-11 hours straight?

Update 1/12/2015 - original video was too long.  That is why it would not play.  Here is a shorter one, but you get the idea.

Update.  Evidently there is a sound issue on the movie clips.  I hope to figure it out. I loaded this when blogger had issues.  It works fine on my computer, so I'll try to re-load it.

Our guests had two very young children with them, and left early.  We could not have a conversation without having to scream over the noise.  We covered up the chairs and went inside, but we had to turn up the TV to cover up the engine noises.  And even that did not work.  Needless to say there were a lot of headaches at our homestead.

Are there noise ordinances in your county?
No, we are told where we live, even though a small town is very close, there is no noise ordinance for us. We are not sure what's happening today, but it's quiet so far.

Do you have close enough neighbors that they are complaining about this awful situation, too?
I'm thinking someone did call or complain since last night. It's been pretty quiet here today (thank goodness). We won't know what's going on until next week.
well, I could not hear it either... but I can only just imagine.

Have you gotten the survey completed yet?
Personally, I'm finding it difficult to believe the law can't do something to help with a disturbing the peace charge or something. Most towns, cities, even states have nuisance laws.

Plus, the land is zoned for farming. Get an attorney. File a lawsuit against the property owner for using it for something other than that.

Don't just depend upon a few calls to law enforcement to make things happen. Call the mayor. Attend the next town planning meeting.

In short, you're going to have to raise as much hell legally and jurisdictionally as this guy is raising on his property before you get any help from any legal entity to do so, because it's like the mother bird principle, the one screaming the loudest gets fed first, and usually most often.

God bless.

Thank you for all your advice. The survey was to get done today (Tuesday). We'll see if they come out. I told Hubby we may have to get a lawyer too.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
