Extreme Clean ~ Blanket Progress

Thanks to another wintery blistery day, the bedroom extreme clean made great headway.  The bed was moved, everything cleaned underneath and put back (and some removed). Cough, cough.   The woodwork on the bed and night stands wiped down, the decor on the wall taken down and dusted, spider webs knocked down...talk about dust.

I found a container of yarn I didn't even know I had, books, magazines, and a container full of tote bags.  Some bags had store tags on them (ha ha!).  They'll be spread out to the girls or used for projects and this year's trips.

I also found my collapsible travel tote, I've had since I went to Spain and Africa while in high school.  It's in very good condition.  It's out from under the bed to be put to use now.

We cleaned off the tops of our nightstands and got the other matching lamp working.  We bought them at an antique store years ago, and love them.  We both have some more cleaning, but not much thankfully.  So happy that big job is almost done.

Thanks to "Old Man Winter" I have made a bit of progress on this baby blanket.  I love it so far, and did not have a kit for this, I just put it together with some colors I liked.

Oldest daughter stopped in.  We fed her of course, and she devoured it.  She'll be taking a look at her apartment today, so here's hoping it all looks nice.  It wasn't ready to even view until today.

It's a wonderfully warm 35° this morning and will continue to rise today.  It's nice to see everything melted outside.

I love your lamps too. My bedroom lamp broke yesterday...I can't turn the switch...I'll see it I can take it apart and fix it...the matching one did the same thing a while back. Spain and Africa in high school? Awesome! What an education that must have been. I love the blanket and I've seen that pattern before but can't remember the name of it...your choice of colors are beautiful! Cleaning is on my list today with much more! Have a good day!

When my wife and I move furniture, we usually find "ferret stash" locations. Those furries love anything shiny, and they'll drag off some amazingly heavy things to their secret hordes beneath a bed or a book case.
Thanks Sam I Am, I went to Spain and Africa with our Spanish club. I loved Spanish class too. I'll try and locate the book I found the pattern in and post it. Stay tuned.
Harry, I have heard they will do that. I typically find dog and cat toys under our living room furniture.

Beautiful blanket, such lovely colours. My beds and furniture were pulled out last week for a good clean, much needed if I am honest. Its such a good feeling when completed.

Kristina, that baby blanket is beautiful! Your artistic flair knows no bounds! I love finding treasures (in all my junk). I've focused on my craft/office room because I want a space to create. I feel like importing you to upstate NY!
mamasmercantile, it is really a good feeling when everything is deep cleaned. Thanks. I think this is the prettiest blanket I've made since the white granny square one.
Bwahahaha! Susan, I have gotten Hubby to clean now too. Oh, there is much to do yet, but gaining speed in the job. Thanks. I have to come up with a price yet for the blanket and will hopefully sell it.

I believe that studying in Africa would be fabulous! I love zebras! I love your blanket as well. The color scheme is amazing!!
Thanks Carol. We got to ride a camel, eat African food and had much fun. Thanks. The blanket is turning out better than I thought.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
