Happy Homemaker Monday

Today I'm joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.  This photo is not from today, but if the weather is good, I'll be using my clothesline next week.

On the breakfast plate. . .
Farm fresh eggs, toast and coffee

The weather outside is . . .
Snow.  Enough to delay school today.  More like slush out there, but enough to make roads slippery.

Right now I am . . .
. . . thankful.  Thankful we found a truck load of split wood for only $60.  Snow moved in too quickly for us to cut our own.  I'm also secretly hoping school is closed.  I could use an extra hand at decorating the cake today.

Thinking . . .
It's gonna be a busy week.  We have a birthday dinner to have, and a wedding in the family.  Oh, and Daughter's Cosmetology speech contest is this week too.  Also, I'm "wait-listed" for a March craft show.  By the time I found out about it, it was already booked full.  Our Army daughter's Co. was deployed, but she didn't have to go.  There were too many with her job apparently.

On the reading pile . . .
Library crafting books (lots of them, ha ha!)

On the TV . . .
Whatever looks good on netflix

On the to-do list . . .
-bake a birthday cake
-laundry
-canning, but it may get pushed into next week
-Work out
-fold dried laundry that's been on the drying racks
-clean down cobwebs, and dust
-sweep and mop the kitchen
-sanitize kitchen counters etc.
-take trash out
-make a breakfast scramble or frittata
-make homemade dog food
-vacuum carpets

On the menu . . .
Monday:  Meatballs/BBQ sauce, wild rice, brussel sprouts
Tues:  Chicken spaghetti, corn, beets, birthday cake and ice cream
Wed: Chili, cornbread
Thurs:  leftovers
Fri:  Baked chimichangas and steamed broccoli
Sat:  leftovers
Sun:  have no idea yet, depends on leftover status

What I am creating . . .

Booties, knitted dishcloth, more pot holders.  Trying to think of something new as well, as spring craft shows are booking now.

Looking around the house . . .
Just need to tidy up for a birthday dinner tomorrow.

On the camera. . .
We had a very short, but beautiful sunrise Sunday morning.

Praying for . . .

Us, the kids

I didn't manage to get the washing done today sadly as it is the perfect day for line drying. Love those bootees, and the menu for the week looks tasty.
Thanks mamasmercantile, I just hope we are not stuck eating all the cake ourselves. They are predicting more snow and freezing rain, and roads are said to be worse. Our daughter has quite a drive to get here.
What a GREAT deal on that firewood. Those baby booties are adorable too. Have a WONDERFUL week.
Thanks Tamy, it was a really good deal on the wood and it burns great.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
