Happy Homemaker Monday

The weekend went by way too fast.  Yesterday flew past.  Hubby had to work, so I did more carpet shampooing, took a short motorcycle ride, and expected more rain.  Thankfully, we didn't get any rain.  Today I'm joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

On the breakfast plate . . .

Strawberry pancakes, coffee

The weather outside . . .
Absolutely gorgeous.  No rain, beautiful sunshine, not too hot either.

On my reading pile . . .
Late library books. Oops.

On the TV . . .
McCleod's Daughters

On the menu . . .
Have no clue yet, ha ha!  Leftovers tonight and maybe a new radish side dish.

On the to-do list . . .
-laundry
-muck the coop
-cut garlic scapes
-dishes
-weed garlic bed (what a mess!!!)
-weed herb garden (another HUGE mess)
-wash down more woodwork
-check the peas
-pick red raspberries

-pick radishes
-weed flower beds (oh my, what a job this will be)
-take trash out

What I am crocheting, knitting, sewing or creating . . .

The ripple crochet blanket is still in progress.  It's the most "current" project, but you know I still have a bunch of half finished projects too.

Looking forward to this week . . .
The weekend.  Although the heat wave returns, I'm still looking forward to it.  They are saying a heat index of 117°F possibly.

From the camera . . .
This morning's sunrise.  After days and days of rain and clouds, it was just beautiful to see.

I love your harvest pictures - nothing better than eating straight from the garden. I also love your weather! Enjoy it and have a GREAT week.

What a beautiful sunrise! And those red raspberries just make me smile :) My dad used to grow them along our backyard fence, nothing beats eating them freshly picked. Hope you have a great week!

I am so glad you are getting a break from the rain! Aren't the weeds awful this year? Even with our dry weather, the weeds are thriving. I love that blanket - it is going to be beautiful. I'm with you - already looking forward to the weekend!
Thank you Tamy, we hope to enjoy some radishes with dinner tonight.
Thanks Jean, we have wild black raspberries here on the homestead too, along with blackberries.
Susan, we are tickled pink for the rain to stop. It's very wet out there, and the weeds are taller than the plants. I successfully weeded one section of my garlic today, but have two more to go. The thistle in them are terrible this year. Now I can at least see where the scapes are, lol! Thanks for the kudos on the blanket too.

Thanks for the visit Grantham Lynn. We had a hot week, but fun too.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
