Till Man

The rain finally gave us a break and a chance for my "Till Man" to till.  I got more planting done too.  The earliest seeds we planted in May are already producing.  My hot banana pepper plants have pretty good size peppers on them now.

Check it out!  We finally have apples on one of our apple trees.  Our cherry tree died last winter, so I'll replant one next spring.  The plum looks terrible, so I'll whip up some neem spray and give that a try.  It still has fungus.  No peaches this year.  I'll have to be prudent with pruning this fall.

Radishes and garlic scapes are rolling in now.   I had good intentions to blanch and freeze the radish greens, but the ants ate holes all over in the leaves (boo hoo!).

We  will be enjoying some garlic scape and radish spread on some crackers too.  Yum.  Love it!

Shy of a row of wax beans, I have the green beans in and the kale planted, but there are a few more seeds and plants to get in.  Between weather and Hubby's work schedule, it's been an hit and miss garden year.

Those radish look tasty. It is an hit and miss garden year here too.
mamsmercantile, the french breakfast radishes are our favorite. We eat them straight from the garden.

Your garden is coming along wonderfully. You are a head of us, but ours is growing by leaps and bounds. All we need is a couple more weeks of warm weather and we can start eating from the garden :)
Thanks so much for your sweet comments on my blog and for your lovely blogging friendship.
Have a nice weekend.
Connie :)

We're behind you, that's for sure. I'm looking forward to scapes here, too, as I love garlic scape pesto!!!
Connie, thank! We are getting more rain tomorrow, so it's inside for me for a few days (again). But...that's not all bad either. Lots to get done.
Susan, yum! I don't think I've made pesto with them for a few years. Good idea.

Gracious! Your garden is doing very well there. Many farmers down here only got their crops in within the last month due to excess wetness, and many farmers west of us lost most of their crops once they did get them in due to heavy rains last couple of weeks.
Been a tough year for rains down here, but maybe it's something we'll be grateful for with the farm ponds and lakes full come July/August.
God bless.

RB, farmers have the same issues here with rain too, and more is coming.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
