New Recipe I tried, or want to try this week . . .
A few of the items on this week's menu are new recipes.  I also have a bread recipe I want to try yet (yeast bread).

In the garden. . .
I'm thrilled to say my heirloom kale grew back, and today I see the collards are making their way back into beautiful leaves in the vegetable garden.  My herb garden is springing back to life....
...the green onions are looking great!  Thyme, chive, parsley, lemon balm, and oregano are turning green.  Medicinal herbs are also popping up.  Comfrey has one green leaf, an the calendula has quite a few.

And the roses, daffodils, hyacinths and tulips are up as well.
Although I need to tidy his flower bed up soon.

Favorite photo from the camera. . .

Tiger taking his afternoon siesta. He's pretty cute when he's all curled up.

Homemaking tip. . .

It's getting close to asparagus time, so my tip is that I pick them as they are ready, and place them in a canning jar with water, until I have enough for a meal.  It keeps them crisp and fresh.

Visiting with blog friends, (blog you want to share, blog post that caught your eye). . .
Honestly, I've just been reading the blogs I follow, and they are all pretty interesting, funny, and enjoyable to read.

Praying for. . .
 Our family, any special requests.

Bible verse, Devotional that is resonating with me at the moment. . .
"The Lord is Good, a refuge in times of trouble, He cares for those who trust in Him."  Nahum 1:7 NIV

Lovely list, great tip on the asparagus will have to use that one, my herbs are all coming on great I keep looking at the mint I really fancy some mint tea for me it has to be made with fresh mint something to look forward to :-)
Row,it's definitely not like turning on a switch for heat, but it's good exercise and saves us money on the heating bill.
Dawn, you are welcome. I love adding spearmint to my iced tea.

Reading your post makes me want to plant a garden right now! I love all the photos. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Jean, my herb garden is very easy to manage. You just have to know which to plant in pots (invasive), and what will winter over. Rosemary does not for us. I have to dig it up and bring it in for winter. I love gardening of all types. A vegetable garden is the most work, but so worth it.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
