Winter that keeps on Wintering

I admit it.  I'm  am so ready for winter to be over with this year. Between ice storms, icy roads, more snow, and now another deep freeze, it's getting old real fast.  Not to be one complaining, but it's been rough this winter.  I have had to change my last appointment twice now.  Plus, I really need to get into town for a haircut soon.  Boring news for sure.

As for our mini water leak, I shut off the water softener until my husband can access the line in the wall.  We are pretty sure that is what needs repaired.  I'm hoping that "fix" will be done today (finally). I did reach out to a family friend, but he was either busy, or did not want to help out with it.

Nothing exciting to share on the home front right now.  I may have a new recipe to share soon, but that's about it.  I'm still working on the current crocheted baby blanket, but finished a few books.  I put a halt on my utility room purge until we figure out the leak and fix it, but I do have a few more home updates I can work on this month yet.

I'm trying not to focus on writing to-do lists, and checking things off so much anymore, but more so making sure I also use this winter "down" time to relax and rest before spring rolls in.  Hence the current book reading, which I lacked last year and the year before.

I told my husband a weekend getaway would be nice, or even a day trip.   Somehow those little travel times do wonders to the soul.

I do have a small goal for the month, to finish the shelf liner installations, which I simply forgot about (maybe I do need a list laying around to remind me, ha ha ha!).

The current puzzle is slow going.  Like I said, ha ha, nothing news worthy to share.

I'm praying the sun pops out this week, and adds some pa-zazzle to the homestead.

I'm with you, we've had a proper winter and I am looking forward to springtime. We had planned to get out of Dodge and go to Amish this weekend...the weather said no you are not going. Doing some winter sowing, and moving the hook...

Faith, I'm needing a trip to Amish too. I need to re-stock some baking items like organic steel cut oats, oats, chickpea flour and more. The roads and weather are just too much right now, and I am so ready for it to be over with.

Trying to not make lists is so hard. Winter keeps wintering.

Hoping the snow passes you by! ❄️

We may get some here, though, and I am excited. We rarely get any.

We had 80 degree weather last week and now it is cold. I do not like it at all.

It's been snowing for 24 hour straight! Not huge amounts. Maybe 6-8 inches but I'm over it. Winter didn't even really arrive until two weeks ago but still... And it's well below zero and supposed to be colder over the next couple of days and then we're supposed to have a brief warm up.
I'm going to TRY to get a blog post out tomorrow. I don't know why it's so hard.
Blessings,
Betsy

Good for you for allowing yourself some winter downtime (as if the weather would let you do anything else!) I seem to get so wrapped up in a bunch of small jobs that my downtime gets neglected. I've started putting my weaving project on my to-do list!

R's Rue, yes, on the list making. I shortened them, and then I just started doing what needed day by day anymore.

Sandi, we are so ready for spring in our area right now.

Far Side of Fifty, I agree. Spring will be a grand arrival.

Anne in the kitchen, I would love 80 degrees after this winter. I typical just roll with whatever we get, but this year has been a very cold and bad weather winter.

Betsy, for me winter has about zero interesting things going on ha ha! I do hope to get more posts going soon.

Leigh, I hear you on getting wrapped up in a job. I have just shortened my home update/repairs list, so I can still enjoy reading, crocheting or even working on a puzzle for that matter.

Oh I am so over winter this year too! It seems like we have had cold and snow since the first of the year. It is snowing this morning and the schools closed an hour before school was to start.

Carol, we are not getting snow, but everything is a deep freeze here still. Salt won't even melt it, it's that cold. I'm so over it already ha ha!
