Deer ~ New Recipe Tried ~ Mini Flood

One day we spotted about 20 "dots" out in a field.  Sure enough it was a larger herd of deer.  The few photos I took were not that great, as they were way out in the field.  I am still looking to upgrade my camera.

New recipe tried.

Einkorn flour Greek yogurt pancakes.
Source online:  Peanut Butter Fingers (name of their site).

Love these, but be aware it makes a lot!  I froze the extras, and it will come in handy for busy mornings or mornings I need a quicker, healthy breakfast.  I added blueberries to ours (I freeze a lot of them in the summer).  Side these with scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, chicken or turkey "sausage" patties, fruit or eat them as they are.  Very filling, high in natural protein (no protein powder), and you can top them with your choice of topping.

I had gone to the kitchen to heat up a cup of tea and noticed water all over the utility room floor, and mostly from coming under the sink in there.  Hm.  Closer look, and we were not sure if the pipes were jostled by one of us, or worse, there was a leak in the wall.  Bingo!  Leak.  We shut off the water softener, until we can get the parts and repair the water line that works the water softener.  It happened before, but many years ago.  We already have an access in the wall to it, so at least that is making the repair easier to do.  I'm glad I kept all of our "dog" towels, because it took a lot of them to clean up the mini-flood.

Those pancaskes look delicious. Yum! Sorry about the mini-flood. Those are never fun. I've been looking at a spatzle maker on Amazon and tring to decide if I'll use it enough to justify buying it. I absolutely love spatzle and used to be able to get it when we when out to a german restaurant in Spokane but I can't find anywhere here that serves it. My German Grandma used to make it all of the time when I was growing up and I would much rather have it than potatos. It's not even expensive, I just hate not finding one at the thrift store.
Blessings,
Betsy

Betsy,. we have tried spatzle once in a restaurant, but it was served to us cold. I will have to look into that now. Thanks.
Far Side of Fifty, thanks. I hope to have an update soon.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
