We are already going through a second batch of homemade hot chocolate. The chill was in the air.
Success! The study is completely done. Aside from a possible curtain in the window. I sort of like it nice and bright, and white.
I had to push Hubby and the girls to help get this done.
Painting ( just love the color I picked) is complete, more carpet cleaned....
....two bookshelves emptied, dusted, purged, moved and loaded back up again. More carpet swept and shampooed, desk moved, desk re-loaded with writing goods, and another bookshelf emptied, dusted, purged.
Whew! Biggest winter project I've done in a long, long time (indoor anyway). I had to make a special purchase for two knobs. I just needed something "happy" on the newly painted cupboard doors. I wanted them to match the color of the hinges already on them as well (that is the way they were when we moved in years ago). We believe that this small room was where the original fireplace and chimney were way back in the day. One of the last homeowners removed the fireplace (making it into a room), and put in a hearth and wood stove in the living room. This room is under the stairway.
Hubby cleaned the light fixture too. The ceiling won't be painted this year. That'll just have to wait. It wasn't on the "get it done" this winter list. We had to disassemble the roll top desk. It was a beast to move otherwise.
I have about 4 stacks of stuff to file and store away, and even read (found some old stories and articles I wrote). I have to purchase a few plastic magazine files (maybe) for storing my writing tablets and folders in. A funny to share. I found a list of things I wrote down I wanted to do in 2013. One was get the weight off and keep it off. Success! One was get a dog of my own. Oh, I laughed, and laughed and laughed.
The total cost to re-do this room was the cost of paint and the cupboard hardware (which I got 40% off). And my personal labor of course. I already had paint brushes and paint tape.
The completion of the study created more cleaning added to the list - shampoo carpet in bedroom, shampoo carpet in hallway, shampoo rest of living room carpet, and rearrange furniture (to the already long list, but feel so go it's getting done list). I can't wait for the day we rip up the carpet.

We are(were) out of hay. The goats are (were) furious. Our supplier guy is out too. In desperation, I called the farm store. Oh, daughter paid the price for sure. Cost? $17.96 (before tax). It was an eye "popper" for us, but Daughter paid. They are her goats. She bought them. The bale is compacted, so it's more like 3 bales smooshed into one. That helps us out. Thank goodness.

It was a full blown work weekend. Neither of us wanted to get out of bed this morning. Let the work day begin....
Bailey's too? Don't mind if I do, ha ha! (that was Sunday morning). Today, there is very little chill. I won't even need to fire up the wood stove today. It's a good day for hanging my laundry outside.
