Tuesday Tidbits

Although vacations are nice, home is nice too.  My own bed, my homemade food, my teas, weeds and what not.

Poor Jesse must have missed my company.  He's been following me around like a kid wanting his Mom.  His Mom didn't take long to take advantage of us being back home.  She left all day Sunday and didn't come home.  Jesse has been by my side constantly.

Speaking of Easter Sunday, our oldest wanted a meal on Sunday, so we drove to the store Sunday morning, but by 2pm we had canceled it.  One left, one was working, and one didn't respond, so we were literally in pajamas on the porch at 2pm, playing cards and drinking adult beverages.  Our biker friend who came and took care of Jesse while our daughter was at work, came to drop of the house key.  He stayed and chatted on the porch for more than 5 hours.

My fitbit is making a liar out of me.  The day we walked out of Dollywood I had over 15,000 steps.  Most likely had over 20,000 by bed time.  I synced it when we got home.  It said on that day I walked 9,000 steps.  Hm.  Liar, liar, liar.....

Monday was rough.  I plowed through it, as did Youngest and Hubby.  My clothesline worked over time, and I had dirty dishes to wash that our 21 year-old never washed while we were gone.  She did however, vacuum the front room and clean a bathroom.

It rained a lot while we were gone.  We came home to wet, tall grass.  The to-do list is back in action, although slow, ha ha!  Trash had to go out, kitchen cleaned up, and I had a stack of rotten bananas since our daughter didn't eat them while we were gone.  Mail was stopped so that was picked up, but I didn't do grocery shopping just yet.  We grilled out, and took it easy last night.  I'll be writing up a menu for the week today.

Banana bread was baked.

Banana cookies were baked.

Look at that grass!  Oh my.  We'll be mowing very soon.

My daffodils are in full bloom.  What a pretty sight to see.

There is a rescue dog that we've been eyeing.  It's possible we may take Jesse with us to do a meet and greet.  Just not sure yet.  We may wait and see if Jesse goes with his Mom when she moves out.  Just contemplating....

Love your blossoms and wash out on the line. I waffled yesterday about hanging my laundry out for the first time of the season and could have, but my day was too jam-packed so I took the quick way out and tossed all loads in the dryer. Next week, though, barring another snowstorm (did I just say that out loud?), I'll start putting the clothes out on the clothesline!

Your over-ripe bananas look like they went to a good cause!
Mama Pea, we've been getting some good weather since we got back from TN. The family is enjoying the banana goodies too. Snowstorm?? Yikes. We may get rain today, but who knows. I hope to get garden work done.

Putting laundry on the line to dry is one of my favorite things to do. There is nothing that smells better! That's a great idea, making sure Jesse likes your 'new' dog. I'm sure that he follows you everywhere because you are the only stable thing in his world. Dogs, especially older dogs, have a hard time with too much upheaval. The more time he gets to spend with you, the better it is for him. I see that we both had the 'banana problem'!
Susan, I had that clothesline working over time ha ha! Yeah, I just want to make sure Jesse is okay with another dog. Ha, had to laugh at your banana comment.

Glad you had a great time. Niece's Fitbit lies a lot too, and makes her crazy doing it. I think I'd toss it if it made me that nuts though.
And rescue dogs, aren't they just the best. I believe they understand they were rescued, and are forever grateful for it.
Have a great week.
God bless.

Thanks RB, Fitbits are a pain to have. We have them for the insurance reasons. We have to earn points to keep it at the same price. It's a pain in the rump.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
