Random Tidbits

Last Saturday, after the library closed, I made a trip to return books.  I had to put them in the outside return, because I had so much going on until Thursday.

Keep in mind, I had 2 bags full, and two to three more good size piles of books to return.

I felt terrible I had to use the return, and they had to haul those books indoors, so I made the librarians a batch of homemade sorghum chips.  I hope they liked them.

Meanwhile, the mailman has been making deliveries here.  I received my capsule machine and a box of empty capsules to start making my organic turmeric capsules.

I received our first order of garden seeds, and medicinal herb seeds too.

You might see a gap in blog posts.   Apparently, our computer is demanding an upgrade.

What a nice thought, I dont suppose they get many gifts, the capsule machine looks good :-)
Dawn, I hope they liked the candy. It has a nice molasses flavor to it. The first thing I plan to make with capsule machine is turmeric. I do need to do more research on other herbs/spices too.

I'll be interested in hearing what you think about the capsule machine. I have one just like it and find I can fill more capsules faster working with a bowl of whatever I'm putting in the capsules and filling them by hand. I separate the two parts of the capsules, use one to scoop up the ingredients (full to brim) and then pop the top on the capsule. My dear husband couldn't believe the little "machine" wouldn't be faster so he tried it and found it to be as inefficient as I did. But maybe it's just us, and it will work slick as can be for you! Let me know.

You can saute a little oil, turmeric and mustard seeds and toss in large chopped green cabbage til it wilts a bit. Delish!!!

You are very thoughtful and I bet they are thrilled with your gift! I know our library staff would be. Of course, their book return is right by the front door!
Mama Pea, that is very interesting. I haven't filled my capsules yet, but I'll let you know what my thoughts are on it.
Nancy, thanks. I will have to try that dish.
Susan, I had to return them when the library was closed, due to a busy schedule. They locked the return when they are open.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
