Sunday Sunshine

Hubby and I had a wonderful date yesterday.  It was an unplanned "date" out.  The day was absolutely wonderful for February, so we took advantage of it.

We drove to town and parked the car.  We shopped at locally owned stores and even sipped a hot coffee at a popular (also locally owned, by someone who I graduated from high school with) coffee house/used book store.  I was tempted to come home with a book, but knew I better get home to read the ones I already have.

After picking up chicken feed, and other necessities, we retreated to the front porch.  Ahhh, porch time.  What a blessing it was.  Fun day, and ended fun.  Hubby beat me at two games of cards too.

Of course the chicken coop remains un-mucked, ha ha.  We'll be doing that today.  It's colder today, so it's a restock of firewood today also.

Well, just about 4-5 hours ago, we had a visitor.  A suspicious vehicle revving around, and next to, our property lines.  Keep in mind, we have fields across and next to us, so any vehicle at 4am is up to no good, or has intentions of some sort.  When the vehicle stopped alongside our north property line, Hubby took the initiative to go out there.  When the vehicle left, it drove to the neighbor's house who runs that nuisance business.  Looks like we'll need more surveillance.

I love the way you and your hubby are so spontaneous and "take off" when the opportunity presents itself! My husband would do that if I "made" him do it, but since he's retired he's so, so happy to be at home that he seldom leaves willingly.

A pox on your nuisance business neighbor!!

Mama Pea, I was surprised when he called home and asked if I wanted to go have coffee etc. I quickly changed from barn clothes to something else. Yeah, if the vehicle was stopping near trees, they were looking for cameras, and if they wanted cameras, they had ill-intentions. My thoughts on it anyway.

So nice to change things up a bit! It's what keeps life interesting!
I think it's the secret to happiness. Treat yourself once in awhile and always have a little something to look forward to regardless of how small. SO glad you and hubby had some fun time together and relaxed a bit. You both work so hard.
Sorry about your nuisance neighbor. If they worked as hard as you guys they would be too tired to be making problems for others!

Thank you Sam I Am, I agree on both.

There is nothing like an unexpected day "off" to recharge your batteries. I am so sorry that you continue to have asshats for neighbors. They sound like they need a hobby - or at least something else to do.

Thanks Susan, recharging was fun. I agree on the neighbors.

Beautiful!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
I hope hubby is careful going out on the property alone. There are some nowadays that will hurt or kill another person for mere pennies, and it sounds like your unfriendly neighbor has few scruples.
Prayers for a safe happy week for everyone.
God bless.
