Random Tidbits

I've been running around with errands, and have not had one minute to get back to my gardens.  It's frustrating, but my license needed renewed, chicken feed was low, and I needed to make a few other stops.  I delivered Mom some organic tea for Mother's Day as well.

It's been crazy busy this weekend too.  Hubby and I are celebrating our birthdays together, as his work schedule is about to double. He already went to work at midnight last night for another shift.  He works so hard.

Prom is tonight, and I have been hired as the photographer.  We aren't sure on the weather, but sporadic storms are in the forecast, so we may not be meeting her at the "gardens" with the bike or car yet. Or just where photos will be taken.

I offered to be the hair dresser too, but that was quickly negated.  She has short hair and only needed a braid to attach a tiara (why oh why do girls need these things for prom?).

So this morning, she is meeting up with friends for a trip to a salon.  More $$$.  Oye.  Thank goodness only one more girl to go to prom after this one.

Last night as we returned from our evening bike ride, we were tinkering around the homestead.  Hubby was putting a new belt on the mower, and I was taking a new t-post out to the northwest corner of our property.

There is a story behind this t-post.  I picked one that had some character to it, a bend, a twist, and the top mashed in.  I painted it in 3 colors, back and front.

Why?

During the night of April 17th, between the hours of 3-4am (or so), when Hubby heard the "nuisance business" running engines behind the property (in hind sight, we should have called the Sheriff), our original t-post was removed from our northwest corner and stolen.

I'll share more on this later.

However, just after I slammed my t-post driver down one last time (insuring it difficult for our neighbor, or someone affiliated with him and his business), to steal it again, two kids on a 4-wheeler exited the woods right in front of me.

With the driver slung up on my shoulder I quickly turned around and looked directly at them, and followed them north.

To the right is where these vehicles are going in and out, and to the left you can just see where our goat fencing is.  This is looking south from our northwest corner.  We hope to know very soon if that "trail" is anywhere on our property.

Before those kids trespassed on our property (you can see their tracks), I turned around and told them to stop.  I have a big mouth, so I know they heard me.  They kept going. I said it again, and they turned heads, but kept driving.  I gave them a piece of advice about trespassing on private property, in a stern voice, and they both said "okay."  I never saw them again the rest of the night.  However, the business was "open" that night too.  I didn't have a camera on me, but I did go back out and get photos of their fresh 4-wheeler tracks.  On our private property.

More on this later as well.

Life can be wonderful with good neighbors but it can be hell with bad ones. I hope things get better and Happy birthday to you and your husband and also I hope your daughter has a wonderful and safe prom. I can't wait to see the pictures!

I would let law enforcement know to document that, but that's me. Maybe they could put some night vision motion sensor cameras and get them on film. Fine them a few times and it might stop? Or go out with a shotgun :) THEN talk to them and take them photos.

Happy Mother's Day!!!
Make sure you're keeping a detailed journal of the goings on "next door" - date, time, what was seen/heard, etc., along with pictures and audio recordings when possible.
Prayers everyone has a happy safe week.
God bless.

Yes, we need to see the pics of prom. A tiara? Really? Things sure have changed. I think it's great that you're documenting all this trespassing. They will not be able to deny it and maybe a hefty fine will make them think twice. Why people think they are entitled to go wherever they want without asking first, is beyond me. I hope it gets resolved.
