The Porch ~ My Favorite Place

A metal sign on my front porch.
 The clock on our porch.
Table and chairs we added last year.  These came from a thrift store, as well as the cushions.  I spent many hours cleaning up the porch.  We stack wood on it during the winter, so there was a lot of sweeping.  I still need to power wash the siding, but will do that another day.
Here is another bench we found at a thrift store.  I just put it out there to paint this spring, but I may leave it out there too.
I brought out my yellow painted flower pots too.  I will have to wait to add flowers.  There is still the chance for a frost.  Do you see the little red tractor on the ledge?  It's a flower pot holder.  I'll move that to another location when I start putting flowers in the pots.
.....and yet on to the next project.  Now I can take my breaks on the porch and not look at piles of wood chips everywhere.  Speaking of views on the porch.
I'm bringing out my "garden mushrooms" to plant around the gardens too.  Although, I will wait for the next rain to add the rest of them.  The ground is just too hard.  Here you can see the chickens got into the garden too.  The mulch is everywhere.  Bad chickens!

Oh how I would love a porch! Yours looks so inviting.....people before us took the big front porch in to enlarge the living area of our old farmhouse.....I now just have a stoop! But someday maybe I can convince hubby to add another porch to this old house!
Enjoy you porch!
I love your porch~ it looks wonderful and cozy. A nice place to sit and enjoy a glass of iced tea.
Love all the thrifted furniture!

Cute! I miss having a front porch, the way our house is laid out. But we have a nice back deck atleast!

Kristina,
You picked up some good finds for your porch from the thrift. I know over the years I have found some of my most favorite things from the thrift stores.
I have a deck and a small front porch. The farm I was brought up on had a huge wrap around porch. I miss that.

Looking good! I spent a couple of hours today pressure washing our patio (out back) and plan to get the the front porch maybe tomorrow. It seems to take a lot of work to get everything scrubbed and ready for the new season. Looks like you have a good start on it :)

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
