Steel-cut Oats

I'm sharing our favorite steel-cut oats recipe.  It's a great way to start the day, or a healthy after school snack for kids.

Crock Pot Oatmeal
4 cups milk (fresh organic, cow or goat's milk)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. melted butter (organic)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon (organic)
2 cups steel-cut oats
2 cups apple, chopped (organic)
1 cup raisins (organic)
1 cup walnuts, chopped (we used locally grown)

Coat the inside of the crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.  Combine all ingredients into the crock pot and mix.  Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours (on warm for 7-8 to make overnight).  Refrigerate leftovers and simply re-heat to enjoy.

Is there nutrition information you could post for this recipe?

Unknown, I got the recipe from my mother many years ago, so I do not have any nutritional information (other than reading the packages the ingredients come in).
