Snow ~ Conversations in my Head

I had plans to make a trip to the "big city" yesterday, but snow squalls moved in, making roads slippery.  I decided to stay home and work on orders and cleaning the house.

I cleaned up the kitchen, did the dishes, some laundry, put together Mom's Christmas gift, and started on the bedroom closet (again, and a daunting task as it holds my yarn and crafting items).

Pantry Score!  Last jar of home canned BBQ sauce.  It went into the crock pot with organic chicken breasts.

I'm going to try my hardest to stay on track this coming year.  Is it bad I have a 3 ring binder for next Christmas (gift ideas, recipes, ornaments to make)?

I want to get stuff done during winter so the garden(s) will have my full attention next year.  It also means I need to organize and purge the rest of the bedroom closet, re-organize my patterns (the two I have are a mess and out of order).

Even if it's getting rid of one item or putting one thing back in it's home, my goal is daily cleaning of the closet to get it done and off my list.  What got done yesterday?  In the closet?

A conversation in my head that's for sure . . .

"I can get rid of this"

"That's where that went"

"This is such a mess"

"I need a craft room all to myself"

"Where in the world am I going to put that?"

"I better get a trash bag"

"I can donate that"

"Daughter can have that"

"Oh my gosh, I DO have yellow yarn"

I completely understand! I sell Pink Zebra fragrance products and my "office" is half of my grand doll's bedroom and although she is rarely sleeping there, the closet stores much of my stuff and it is always surprising to me when I find something that I think I don't have.
Carol, ha ha! That is so my bedroom closet. I need to get super organized this winter.

Oh, I LOVE your idea of a 3-ring binder with recipes, ideas, etc. for Christmas next year. We may have a houseful next year (yikes!) so I was just thinking earlier this morning that now won't be too early to start getting organized!
Mama Pea, thanks. I think it's our turn next year to host too, so I'm trying to organize very early lol!

I use my pocket program on my 'puter. I put different tags on things saved in there to make it easier to find.
Thanks for the idea Cockeyed Jo

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
