Interesting book ~ Oldest Daughter Turns 19 ~ Lymph Node Update

Dirt-Cheap Survival Retreat, One Man's Solution, written by M.D. Creekmore.

This book is not written as a "how-to" for readers, but more about sharing one man's experience and tips on what worked for him, and what didn't.  He shares his tips (and suggestions) on smart storage, stocking up, preparedness, and self-sufficiency.

Today, is my oldest daughter's birthday - 19 years ago, she was born, and weighed 10 lbs. All but one of my kiddos weighed 10 lbs. or more.  The doctor's nurses used to joke to me, and ask if I knew the difference between eating a pumpkin and an apple.  For some reason, God gave me big babies.

Anyway, she's still sleeping, so I hope to share some photos of her birthday, later tomorrow.   Her horse's birthday is this month too.

I am slowly recovering from this "crud" that I caught.  The good news is, that my lymph node in the back of my neck, has returned to normal.  It only took 6 months, but thank goodness it is normal again.  I noticed that when I was drinking the homemade ginger ale, that it was shrinking faster than with anything else I was doing.  Then when I started drinking the hot ginger tea (also homemade), it started to shrink even faster.  I'm not a doctor, but for me, this experience worked.

Today, hubby is not working.  Yay!  He's been working so many overtime hours, I haven't seen him much.  Today he has plans to work on the van that we need to sell, repair a door knob, and other things around here.

Peanut (goat) seems to be feeling better thankfully, but now Blondie's (horse) foot is swelling up again.

Happy birthday to your daughter! :)
It's nice that you get to spend a little time with your hubby and I'm glad you are feeling better. I swear, it seems like it's always something when you have critters!
lymph node is shrinking?...how about that! I do find that fascinating

I should probably go back a few posts and get that recipe!

Happy birthday to you daughter!

I find massaging lymph nodes helps, in the neck from colds, etc. Releases some of the fluids. Can you post the ginger ale recipe when you're feeling better?

That book looks good. I love books like that. Ginger is supposed to be very good for you...I'll have to remember that. So glad you're feeling better!

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
