Garden Tales ~ Chive Vinegar ~ Yarn Tales

My 20 year old garden sign gave me a chuckle.  It is sort of how we felt after all that rain here.  The sign is broken, and it will be replaced.   Flower beds are weeded, rose bushes trimmed and flowers planted.  Whew!

The vegetable garden?  Not planted.  It is still, even with this heat here, way too wet.  I managed to weed out the rhubarb plants, but I think I carried about a pound of wet mud on my muck boots out of the garden.

We are still getting a few straggler asparagus.

The rain God's gave us a lot more chive blossoms, so I started another chive vinegar, and this one is with organic red wine vinegar.  It'll be great for summer salads and more.  I think we use red wine vinegar more often, but we now have both infused with chives (white wine and red wine vinegar).

There really is no excuse to be so far behind, but I finally (yes, finally) got all the last 11 granny squares sewn on to my crochet book blanket.  However, I have ends of yarn to sew in, and in the process of happily getting it caught up to date, I have since finished another book.  Insert chuckle.  I never, ever, in my wildest dreams thought I would be finishing books faster than keeping up with the blanket.

I guess the plan behind the blanket is working.  The blanket itself was to motivate me to read more books, and in the process to use up scrap balls of yarn.  I forgot to get an updated photo of the blanket.

My black yarn crochet project is still in the process of being made. Progress is progress, right? Ha.  I've also collected a new baby blanket pattern, but restraining myself until I complete this current project.

That is a healthy looking asparagus. I love asparagus. The chive infused vinegars sound so good. I've missed so many of your blog posts because they, along with others, do not show on my reading list until days sometimes. I've heard mine is the same. It is a blogger issue. I'll have to go back and read your posts to catch up.

It is so dry up here in S Dakota. It would be nice if the rain could be evenly spread out throughout the country wouldn’t it? I’m looking forward to seeing the granny blanket. I’ve read two books in three days of being in the truck.
Blessings,
Betsy
Jeanna, the same reading situation happens to me too. Happy reading.
Betsy, sure hope you get some rain soon. I have some ends to sew in on the blanket, but will hopefully give an update next month. I too, read thru books faster on the road than at home. I am hoping to find little libraries to donate my books too. Blessings.
