Chitter-Chatter

I am almost done weeding all of the flower beds.  I have yet to weed the herb garden, but it's in pretty good shape thankfully.

We came up with a solution to "fence" the other vegetable garden on a budget.  We are seeking out a person to come till the vegetable gardens on a budget.  It seems that the only one we can find so far, is with a large tractor (so glad we removed two sides of the fenced garden).

We had a coyote in the gardens lately.  We are also hoping it has moved on.

The new coop build is on hold (sigh), but there is nothing I can do about it. When you run a homestead, you run into set backs here and there.

Our AC units are not in yet, and we are in the 80's.  Again, another job on hold (for now).

I've started harvesting chive blossoms (more on that later).

I managed to gather yarn scraps to crochet the latest book blanket granny square, but have yet to crochet it.  Progress.

I was asked if I had anymore crocheted water balloons, and the answer was no (of course).  Back in Dec. of 2023 we held our last craft show.  Despite letting everyone know, not one person we knew, nor other people who arrived, bought anything from us.  I had a TON of inventory too.  Something for anyone.  The only lady to show up, was one that wanted knitted dishcloths, and I had already made them, and it was a good place to meet to exchange. We decided that was the very last one to do.  Too much handiwork time, very little sales, and a lot of hard work to pack up and un pack and set up.  Not to mention the cost to rent the space.

Anyway, I had asked a ton of people if they wanted them, and tried to sell the remaining water balloons.  No one wanted them.  I had a LOT leftover, so I took them to the library and they used them for an Easter Egg hunt that following Spring.  That was over a year ago.  Now, I'm being asked for them.  Go figure.   I don't even had the yarn to make them.

So, I will be doing a double check to make sure I do not have any left, but if you are interested in what I am talking about, the post and photo is on this:  BLOG POST.  Enjoy!

If you have the blessing of a weekend off, and adventures in the mix, enjoy!

I also gave up trying to sell things and decided to just make what I love and give it away to people who would really appreciate the work.
I went over to that post and looked at the water balloons. I can't imagine anyone with kids NOT wanting them. What a great idea!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Betsy, it was hard to explain how to use them to people, but it saves money and trash in the yard. Wash and repeat the fun ha ha!

You inspired me to make a few of those up a few years ago, and the grandkids had a wonderful time with them.
chipmunk, I am so glad to hear you were inspired. I should have kept a dozen on hand, so guess who may be making a dozen? Ha ha! Sheesh, I just didn't want to store stuff.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
