The Wonders of Nature

I purposely get up early enough to recharge with coffee, and watch the sunrise.  I also go outside to take in a breath of fresh winter air.  Even if it's just a minute.  Some days, I catch a beautiful sunrise, some days I see animal tracks, some days I see the beauty of mother nature in wild animals.

I took these photos, not realizing I what I would see.  It was quite a sight to watch, as it appeared the largest buck was standing guard, while the rest of the herd got into the woods nearby.

What I didn't expect to see in the photos.  A stalking coyote.

Keeping an eye on the coyote.

I hope you enjoyed the photos. They are not the best, as I am using an older camera, but still pretty good.  My husband gifted me a new camera for Christmas, but due to a problem with it, it had to be returned.  A new camera (we are going with something else this time) is being sought out, and hopefully soon.

We are getting more snow, and they are still predicting a big dip in cold temperatures.

Beautiful photos. Nature always has it's surprises. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Blessings,
Betsy
I love this photo series, and the fact that you caught the coyote mid prowl is pretty fantastic! He must be seriously hungry if he thinks he can take down a healthy adult deer by himself.

We saw a coyote not too long ago. It cut through the yard and seemed to have no concern that humans were nearby.

Your pictures are awesome. I haven't seen a coyote in awhile. The last one was running down our street nursing a hurt paw and being followed by a truck.

God bless.
Betsy, you are welcome. Glad you enjoyed them. I was shocked at what I saw after I started taking photos.
Anne in the kitchen, it is very cold here right now, so it would not surprise me if he/she was that hungry.
Sandi, they usually do not care where they are. One year we had one cutting through our property several times. No care in the world.
Jackie, they are a huge problem here. I haven't seen one in a few years. They prey on small pets, stray cats, and other small animals. I was also told, if we ever have fox problems again (which we did one year), that is how you know you have a coyote problem (they prey on fox too).

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
