Happy Homemaker Monday

We are approaching the count down on starting the carpet removal.  It's been a process for this room.  It's funny how fast (or slow) a job can go, when it involves where you sleep at night.

Anyway, expect blurps in my blog posts.  We plan to start this Friday.  It will become crazy busy, as I try and figure out how to survive with things a hot mess again.

I am joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom (although all our kids have moved out)

The weather . . .

Cold, in the 30's but will warm up to the 50's this weekend.

As I look outside my window . . .

There is more snow.

Right now I am . . .

Brewing coffee.  The time change has me all messed up.

Thinking and pondering . . .

We thought about it, and and pondered, and decided to sell our record player and vinyl.  We used it twice since we've had it over the last 14 years.

On my TV . . .

Anything that looks interesting.

Listening to . . .

Country.

On my lunch plate. . .

Have no idea.

On my dinner plate . . .

Have no idea.

On the menu. . .

-grilled cheese, home canned tomato-basil soup

-enchilada soup

-leftovers

On my reading pile. . .

No reading as I am clearing the bedroom.

On the to-do list . . .

-Dust
-laundry
-plan meals
-work on bedroom

Plans for the week . . .

Take all the wall decor down in the master bedroom, box it up, remove any furniture other than the bed (still making a plan).  I finally convinced my husband to work on the bedroom first, then the closet (not all at once as he wanted).  I still have a lot of work to purge the closet (craft related supplies, purge shoes/boots, more clothing etc etc).

What I am creating . . .

I'm down to the last two color sections on our blanket, but need to check my yarn stash for gray.  I was incorrect on how much I needed, and may need to get more.

My simple pleasure . . .

Journaling.

Looking around the house . . .

Well, it looks as it would if you emptied an entire room into another room.  Again.

From the camera . . .

One of the many 45's I have. I have many from the 80's, and bought them in our home town at a record store that is still in business.

Bible Verse, Devotional . . .

Prayers for Hope, as she struggles daily with the loss of her husband.

Luludou, it was time to let the records go. We just didn't play them anymore. Thanks.
R's Rue, thank you. She'll appreciate that.

Journaling is one of my simple pleasures too! I've been keeping sort of a memory journal - putting bits and bobs of things that represent my days in there - as with most things, I am behind in documenting!

Enchilada soup is something I've been meaning to try. I should give it a go while it is still cold and snowy out.

Have a wonderful week!
Sherry, I lost my mojo to journal during 2020, as I felt I would just be repeating all the bad going on in life, but I'm back at it again.

I'm sorry you are selling your record player and the records. Grilled cheese and tomato soup sounds really good. Hope you have a great rest of your week!

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
