Behind ~ Gratitude

I realized I am behind on most everything, including homemade Christmas gifts.  I need to get cracking on this.

I am writing a to-do list for Hubby.  We need to get cracking on cutting wood, getting the air conditioners put to bed, and he needs to look at my dishwasher.  If it's not fixable, I'm considering taking it out and putting in another cupboard.  I don't want to invest in another one, especially with the holidays coming.  Hopefully it's an easy fix.

The rain fell all day yesterday, temps dropped and snow was predicted.  I don't even have the rest of the potatoes dug up (if there are any out there).

Today I am thankful for . . .

Dirty Dishes  -  a well fed family
Sore muscles -  I'm alive
- hot coffee in the early 5am hour
- running water, running hot water for that power shower
- warm cozy slippers and slipper socks
- trees to cut and split
- my journals, I love to write

I smiled when I read that you're thankful for dirty dishes. Doing the dishes (no automatic dish washer here) is my least favorite household task but each time I start to grumble about having so many to do, I truly am thankful for having enough food and the ability to cook with the dishes and the lovely hot running water to use!

I'm back to the manual dishwasher ME! They make junk. It doesn't last. I've had 3 dishwashers. No more. I wash as I go. It's not a big deal anymore. I guess the novelty just wore off. Hand washing, warms you up in the wintertime, and gives you "thinking time".

You and me both! There was gal that blogged this morning and told us it's only 54 days until Christmas? Yikes Batman! We had both better get a move on! LOL!

Time is flying...our Thanksgiving is done, now Halloween, so I'm going to be concentration on the Yuletide holidays! Oh I'm grateful for running hot water too this morning as the winds keep shutting the power off and on.
Thanks Mama Pea. Glad I could give you a smile today.
Faith, you are so right about how they build them anymore. It's expensive to keep replacing them.
Sam I Am, I sure hope this weekend has good weather.
Rain, our wind was pretty wicked last night too. Now the sun is out, but cold.

This gave me things to think on and be thankful for.
Thanks Pat, it's been too long since I posted a gratitude post. Glad you all are enjoying it.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
