Tidbits

I made a loaf of bread using the recipe Sam I Am shared at her blogspot - farmgirlsam.

How did it turn out?

Pretty darn good if I say so myself.  Thanks for the recipe!

Hubby and I were to be meeting up at 7am this morning, and riding the Triple Nickle Ride today.  Last night those plans changed.  It takes great concentration to ride a curvy, twisty road, with hills and surprises at the top.  He came home in pain from the dentist last night.  That's okay.  I think we'd rather go do that ride, and stay the night vs. ride the motorcycle back late, and so tired.  It's about a 60 mile ride, but first you have to get there.  Getting there takes about 3 hours. I had accounted for the loss of gardening time for this ride too, but taking advantage of being home now.

Guess who is driving now?  Youngest just went to the "Big City" and obtained her driver's permit.  Last one to learn to drive.

Congrats to "Youngest"! :) I only got my license when I was 31. I lived in the city pretty much until then so had no use for it. I think it made me very appreciative of being in a car and on the road. That's a nice looking loaf! I made bread too this morning...gotta love that smell! When will you guys be doing the road trip after all?

So glad you liked the recipe...to me it is a no-fail recipe which is what I like! LOL! I'm not the greatest cook but I try to emulate the great ones. Yours turned out beautiful!
Rain, the road trip won't be any time soon. My shoulder needs looked at, and taking ibuprofen has upset my stomach. So I can't take that, nor motrin. I have no other natural "pain killers" for inflammation or muscle pain, so I have to struggle through it. As for Youngest. She turns 16 this coming December.
Thanks Sam I Am, the family loved it.

Is there anything in the word better than fresh baked bread? Personally, I think not - unless it's a slice of fresh baked bread slathered with a nice chunk of butter. LOL
Prayers for all of us this coming week, that it be a wonderful week, and a safe one too.
God bless.

Oh-oh! Looks like your car is going to be commandeered again! That loaf of bread looks wonderful! Hope you get good news from your doctor on that shoulder.
RB, thanks for the prayers. We need them this week.
Susan, no help from the doctor today. I'll be posting. But yes, she is a new driver now. Hope I'm up for it.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
