I had one of those days when being in the kitchen just didn't "click" for me. By the way, our garlic is officially gone now. We used every last clove.
Not that I have a lack of outdoor work. But....
I started to make spaghetti, but the unit to cut them was jamming it up. My dough was fine.
So I went to making fettuccine. Well, that jammed up. I just used this thing not long ago. Ugh. So, I put the dough through the roller to flatten it and hand cut some bowties until that pooped out on me.
I just called it quits and put the rest of the dough into the freezer.
The pasta machine will be taken apart, cleaned and oiled. Now...I just need a day when everything is hunky-dory in the kitchen again.
Until then....
Or...
A whiskey-butterscotch ice cream shake. I am so bad. I have wanted to try one for so long, but we eat all the ice cream when we make brownies. I finally got one. YUMMO!
After all, the "birthday" week just turned into a birthday month. and it's not over (smiling).
Someone asked about the recipe to can Habanero-Apricot Jelly. The recipe is in this book: The All New Ball Book of Canning and Preserving @ 2016. I borrowed the book from our library. I am so sorry for the delay, I thought I lost my copy and had to order the book again from the library.
As for the outdoor work? Hubby got the weed eater out, and got most of that done. We got almost everything mulched (in the rain), a bit of mowing done, one bee trap in place (photos of those to come soon), picked up some hot pepper plants, but are still in search for an nursery that has more (our nursery closed, sigh, sad face). Raspberry bed is mulched. We picked up flowers for my hanging porch pots, and another rosemary plant. The herb garden is completely mulched and we plan to finish the remaining of mulching today. Mowing was halted due to rain, and now we have to dry out to mow, then I can get to the fruit tress and not worry about ticks. If not, this coming week it'll get done. We have an 80% chance of rain today, and I forgot to drop zinnia seeds in my back porch pots. Speaking of that, I see poison ivy growing in the back patio flower bed. Yikes. The weather here is cold and wet. Too wet. The planting of the veggie garden continues to be halted. The weeds are growing.
Although chilly, we grilled out dinner last night, and I think we have enough for leftovers today. That would be nice. We attempted to play a game of cards on the porch, but the wind was too wicked, and we were too cold.

I hope I don't have to order another one. Take care!
