Cleaned, Organized, and a Happy Mom

I never knew it would be an all day job.  Especially for one bookshelf (top only). This is a boring post today.  Just warning you.

Sigh.  But what a happy sigh it is.

I cleaned out a small basket, that had a bunch of odds and ends tossed in it.  I found my desk keys, and an envelope with family history items from my Aunt.  I thought I had them all organized into one safe are, but I had forgotten about it.

I found "noters" from Youngest, from when she used to write me notes off and on.  I actually have a scrapbook for them, because they were so interesting, funny, and worth saving.

I found two sets of prayer cards too.  I think I will look through my wooden embroidery hoops and make a pocket organizer for a "prayer for the day."  Or week.

I cleaned down the wood work, dusted, tossed out, put stuff in it's place, and unburied a basket full of saved recipes (from magazines).  I have some recipes on cards and in plastic covers too.  I'll most likely toss everything (expect the plastic card covers).  Gulp.

A few tiny spiders made there way up into the sweeper, and the webs wiped down.

I saved the basket of recipes to tackle today.  Then it's onto another bookshelf (that one is definitely not as interesting, nor full of surprises).   But that's not the end of it either.  I am deep cleaning two more areas.

I however, am having allergy issues with the dust.  It's not my favorite cleaning job, but it must get done (and often).

Four of us made it to the gym last night.  I myself, prefer to go at 5:00am, and that gears me up for the day.  Hopefully, I can convince Hubby to do that.

School had another two hour delay, so roads could be cleaned off.  I think we are due to get more snow later today too, but not much.  I am hoping it warms up, so my hens start laying again.  Yesterday we got one egg.

Just one question: Do you hire out? As a cleaning lady? In Minnesota?
Kim, you are right. It was just the right time and it needed done.
Mama Pea, thanks for the chuckle. I had to stop early today. Too much dust in places I didn't even think it would be, ha ha!
I like boring post. Sometimes, I think they're actually the best ones. Reading someone else's post about spider webs and dust, makes a girl feel normal. So, Thank you!
Stay warm.
Diane, Thanks. I do like to keep things real (the good, the bad and the ugly) when I write. I do have funnies to share once in a while too.

Good for you cleaning and purging! You might wear a dust mask when you do that? Would cut down on what you inhale...
Nancy, good idea. I have an air purifier too, but I need new filters. When I get my car back from Hubby, I'll have to get some.

I love coming to your blog as you seem to be one of the few who talk about actual day-to-day responsibilities. I would love to just crochet or knit or sew all day but that does not a home make. My house is not perfect but at least I try to take care of things that need to be done as soon as I can. I love that you talk about regular things like laundry and cooking and organizing. I don't feel so alone. LOL!

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
