The very last advent gift was wrapped and stickers attached. The bags are ready to deliver.
All fall decorations were taken down. Christmas decorations are slowly being put up. No new recipes tried lately, but I have ordered a fiction Christmas themed book from the library. I have more Christmas themed books on my own shelf to read yet too.
I started a crocheted lap afghan for a Christmas gift. It will need mailed to the recipient, so I hope to get it finished this month.
A "first" for us this holiday year - Christmas Spice Extract. I am making it homemade to try in baking recipes, but I do need to add peel from one organic orange yet. Not sure if it's worth making until we use it in recipes.

A Christmas Spice Extract? To use in baking? What a great idea. I'll be interested in your thoughts on it.
I had to laugh when I read that you're taking your fall decorations down. I'm still trying to find mine to put them up! With the work being done in the front bedroom, everything has been shuffled around again and I have no idea where those decorations are.
Well done!
Please let me know how the extract is once you use it.
Dennis started working on the Christmas letter this morning and I'll start addressing cards, probably tomorrow. Every year I say it's the last year because of the cost of postage but always end up giving in and doing them again. Since we won't be home for Christmas, I'll probably just put out the nativity set after Thanksgiving. I'll decorate with my snowmen for winter, but no actual Christmas decor.
Take care.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Leigh, yes, the extract is for baking, although the recipe states you can use it for drinks too (?). I'll get the recipe up if it's worth making for additional flavors.
Anne in the kitchen, I will definitely let you all know once we try it a few times.
Betsy, I told my husband I was not doing the 24 days of advent gifts again next year. We'll see if I can hold to that, ha ha! Gosh, now you have me wondering where our nativity set is, ha ha!
