Cold, Cloudy and Dreary but...

The bedroom is 95% done with spring cleaning.  Woohoo to that.  I took advantage of a cold, darker day and got Hubby on board to clean up his stuff.  I'm hoping to get him to purge t-shirts next day we can't work outside.

In celebration of our efforts I lit some candles and relaxed.  A much better day for both of us.

We were both up early this morning.  Nothing like hearing (at 5am), what sounded like a loud pick-up truck pull in near the property and shut off the engine, to get you out of bed.  It's still dark here, so we are trying to be quiet to not wake the dogs just yet.

Armed and ready, and they haven't started up their engine to leave either.  It'll be light soon and we will be able to see if they are along the south tree line (property line near the field).  We also discovered our south flood lights are not working, so upon daylight those will be replaced (I bought back up bulbs thank goodness).

Now that the traffic is very low, we can literally hear so much better now too.  I think after that mess with the nuisance neighbor for 3 years, we are easily on alert much more than before.

Oh, and after we went to bed last night we both hear what also sounded like trucks (2 that our daughter saw through the front window, because I ran out and looked myself also), slow in front of the house and it sounded like they were going to stop.

Keep your doors locked and your phones charged, and stay armed.  Even if you have to put baseball bats at every entrance.  So far, we do not hear them again, but like I said when daylight arrives, we'll get a better look.  We are in the boonies, and on a country highway, making an easier target.  Stay safe my friends.

Hope all is well, must be a worry with trucks stopping. Take care.
mamasmercantile, our 6 acres is situated off a 2 lane country high way and surrounded by crop fields in all directions. For someone to pull in near our property at 5am is a huge concern for a possible thief.

Gosh, now I know why folks were buying more Ammo! I hope you never have to raise your guns to look after yourselves but having trucks about your property like that, just before first light, is not good. Stay safe on ALL counts.

Yep, we better all stay vigilant. The sicker people get and the longer the lines get at the stores, the worse people are going to get.
Prayers for us all.
God bless.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
