Treasures ~ Corn ~ Turkey/Zucchini Meatballs and other Tidbits

In the process of  cleaning the closet, I found 5 crochet hooks, 4 pairs of scissors, one embroidery needle and one yarn needle.  Oh, and one more of my favorite pens!  I also uncovered 4 pints of tinctures that need strained.  They'll be strong ones, ha ha!

The garage is next, but I still have a bit to clean up in the utility room.  I'm just glad I got the closet done (other than Hubby purging his clothing).

Bad news for our area.  The produce stand (has been open for 91 years) announced they will not be opening for the 2020 season due to numerous road closures.  We get our corn and other various veggies from them.  I'll have to look for a co-op to drive to or other source, but it will be drive if we want corn.  They also sold popcorn, so I may be planting it, and hoping for the best this year.

Good news!!! Woohoo!  Mom went to Cleveland Clinic on Monday, and the news came back that she does not have to see a doctor for at least one more year.   No surgery.  So happy for that news!  Thank you all for your prayers, good thoughts, vibes and mojo!

The cardinals came back.  There were so many again.  I have a few more photos to load too.

I had a day in the kitchen - turkey/zucchini meatballs.  I made about 81 of them.  All in the freezer - no breading/oats either.

The cross bookmark pattern is free on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cross-bookmark-or-ornament

I just put my tassel at the top vs. the bottom.  I will also have some up for sale soon.

Sorry to hear that corn is going to be hard to get. Those meatballs look delicious, but I am wondering how you will use them? I can't imagine them in spaghetti. So thankful to hear that your mom doesn't need surgery. I heard of three miracles yesterday that God provided!

Carol, I put homemade marinara sauce on them, but I can also put home canned hot pepper mustard sauce on them too (or in soup as well). Woohoo to the miracles.

Thank you so much for the pattern link. Your meatballs look awesome and I bet they'll taste that way too! So happy about your Mom...that is wonderful news!

So glad to hear the news about your Mom. Praise and Thank God!!!
In light of my oldest brother having colon/liver cancer, I've decided to cave in and have a colonoscopy on Monday. I had a clean home test a year ago, so I don't think anything bad about it, but youngest sister had a colonoscopy, and they found some polyps that needed removed, so it's my turn. The VA will be paying for it, so thank God for that.
I recently thought up a craft that I'm going to do for myself, and you might want to make some for your craft shows. I'm going to knit a small pouch about 3"x6" with a crocheted strap that will go around my neck to carry my cell phone around in. The problem I've been having is, I'm out in the main house cooking or loading dishes or cleaning, and the doctor or someone else calls on my cell phone which I accidentally left in my bedroom or vice versa. You could make them with scrap yarn and even put a little button flap on them to keep the phone secure in the pouch. They're selling them on Etsy, and sometimes they're selling from $12 to $20. That's good money out of scrap yarn and a bit of time. So anyway, I wanted to share that with you. If you want to see them, just put "cell phone pouch with strap" in your search bar and away you go. Some show wrist straps. Those would be fairly useless if someone's doing dishes, etc., but a cross body strap would be out of the way and very useful.
Brother who has cancer just got a visit from the Department of Aging in PA, and they're going to install an elevator and a walk in bathtub in his house. I am so blessed for him. He lives in the side of a mountain, and the incline inside and outside of his house is horrendous, so this will help him (and his wife who's being run ragged taking care of him, getting him to chemo appointments, etc.) a lot.
Prayers everyone has a great day tomorrow.
God bless.

RB, thanks for the project idea, and that's great news for your brother. Glad they are providing for him.

You are welcome Sam I Am. It took me a while to find the pattern I wanted.
