. . . from the handiwork journal ~ The Finished List

There is an advantage of a few days of resting and bed time.

. . . in preparation for the next craft show, I thought it would be good to get a few sets of heart cup/mug coasters crocheted.

. . . finished these round dishcloths for the upcoming sale, and to restock supplies for future shows.

. . . finished one set of pink pot holders. These will go in my tote to take to the craft show as well.

. . . finished a few more (burgundy, black) slouchy hats (not that I want cold weather to linger).

. . . finished two sets of coffee cup coasters.  I made these years ago for my own table, but used brown yarn.  The girls had a fit telling me "coffee is black Mom!"  Well duh!  Brown is "hot chocolate" according to them.  Either way they are super cute.  I will have to find more "wine" cotton yarn to make a few more sets, as this color is pretty nice.  I'm not sure if they make it anymore, but who knows.  I might find another color well liked for these.

. . .finished a few "heart" doilies using yarn stash.  I didn't have white for these.  I made them using #3 cotton yarn. Pink and Bridal White.

. . . finished mix and match flower cup/mug coasters.  These are fun to sell individually or as sets.  There is a story behind these.  I'll be sharing soon.  Nothing exciting but a story no less.

It's a cold brisk day here today.  Plans are to cut and split wood.  We need it.  Although we are both still slightly congested, it needs done.

I will be in the kitchen today too.  I was just informed that I am hosting a breakfast here at the homestead Sunday morning.  I'm always the last to know (sort of frustrating when the house is a mess due to being sick).  I need to get some biscuits pre-made and some homemade sausage mixed up.  I need to check my supplies and egg count too.  Eggs have been slightly low in production lately.

Speaking of eggs, I need two for tonight's dinner - soup beans and buttermilk cornbread.

Wow! You’ve been busy! Everything looks so nice! Knitting is not in my bag of tricks. I’ve been embroidering; I do love handwork, too!
Like you, i’ve been sick with something. I staggered to the mailbox a couple of times but that’s it. Today is day four. I feel much better so I walked the dog (two miles) and i’m just now starting to get the feeling back in my toes. I infuse my homegrown thyme in honey for sore throats. I give it for gifts, too. As you know, it’s so good and soothing. I am not a good patient and it looks like you aren’t either. (Doing too much, not enough rest.) I hope you take it easy while you’re still healing.

Wow you have been busy, all those beautiful projects completed. I love the heart coasters, they are adorable. Take care and don't do too much until you are fully fit.

Debbie, you made me laugh about being bad patients, ha ha! Gifting thyme infused honey is a good idea. I've infused it with sage before too. Yum.

mamasmercantile, thank you! I gifted the heart coasters in pink to my Mom one Christmas.

Gonna get my two cents worth in and say I think the coffee in your mugs should be dark brown, not black! All of your handwork looks so perfect, Kristina. Those hearts would be perfect for Valentine's Day!

Mama pea, ha ha ha! I'll have to see if I can find a suitable dark brown. For now they are black. All I have is a regular brown, which does look like hot chocolate, ha ha!
