Stay-cation

Hubby and I had a good laugh at the end of yesterday.  As we were driving home, I said, "I feel like I'm playing hookie from my tomatoes."  I really was, and it felt so good.

We went to the movies to get out of the house, watching "The Magnificent Seven."  Don't worry,
there was no nasty buttered movie popcorn in our diet, and of course no soda pop.

Movies tire me out, just sitting there, so we went to an antique mall to get a long, slow walk in our day.  Hubby needs to be moving, but not fast.  He really enjoyed it, and he didn't get tired like he used too.  What a good feeling it is to see him with so much energy.

It was raining, and we could not walk outside, but we enjoyed our breakfast on the porch too.

In the very second to last aisle of the antique mall, I found this!!  I had been looking for a square one and the rooster on it just made my day.  It's in good shape, and just needs a good cleaning.

The forecast is 90% rain today, and Hubby offered to help me put up some tomatoes.  I'm thinking just freezing the ripe ones and letting the others sit, I really could use more in the freezer.

And we can always paint the doors to keep Hubby from sitting too much.  I purchased red paint early in the spring, and we have 3 house doors that will be painted this fall.

Today, we will just worry less, hurry less, pray more, and hug more.  And I may sneak out back and pull at least one tomato plant out.  Oh, the joy of ripping them out is long over due.  I'll just have to remember to rip off a few green ones for Hubby's cake.

So glad to hear that your hubby is feeling better! I know what you mean about the joy of yanking out tomato plants!
Susan, it's raining, but as soon as I can, I'm pulling out those plants.

So glad he is feeling better and doing so well. Is that a cake container you bought? I like it whatever it is!
Sam I Am, yes it is a cake container. I have looked for a square one for a long time. I can put either round or square cakes in it.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
