Random Tidbits ~ Cowboy Candy ~ Sticky-note-itis ~ Bonfire

So, you know how I blogged about adding greens and adding the nuts, and "boom" my weight started coming off?  And my nails grew?

Well, come to find out, I found this article on "Why Adding Copper...." from Clean Eating.  Makes sense to me.  Maybe I was lacking the copper in my diet.   I knew my thyroid was wonky, but the more I read the more I learn.

And for a twist on things....

I took one afternoon off from tomatoes (hoping they didn't over-ripen), but jalapenos were having their day, thanks to someone who bought two pounds at the Farmer's Market.  That would be me of course.  The third pound came from my own garden.

I've wanted to make Cowboy Candy for 3 years now.  Hubby is a hot pepper man, and I do love a few on a cracker with cream cheese (or on a burger).  Recipes stated it was best to let this rest in jars for a month before eating.

I gathered every single sticky note I had and made a page in the notebook - things to make, things to get done, running lists of what I need to order from our favorite online suppliers, etc.  I just can't lose it now, but the computer and house looks a bit more less cluttered with all those notes removed.  I just hope I remember to look in the notebook every single day right now.   There is a page for everything I want to do different in the garden next year too - plant more of, plant less of, don't plant, or plant new etc.

We were not keeping up with the grape tomatoes, so I sliced those babies up and dehydrated them for winter.  I can add them to spaghetti, on pizza, in stews/soups, in breads and other items.  I can make "sun dried" tomatoes by putting some in oil too.

Hubby and I took off on an afternoon motorcycle ride, even after all that work.  We visited a local winery we have wanted to visit for a long time.  It's off the bucket list now.  We ate dinner there, and found out that the food was way over-pricedOn the way home we stopped at a campground his sister and husband have a camper at.  I didn't even know the campground existed.  It's sort of a place for older drinkers to go and put a seasonal camper at.  It was fun to visit family, but it had the worst pit toilets I ever saw in my entire camping life.

Then it was back home to watch over the bonfire Hubby allowed the kids to have.  Well, the two younger girls and many friends.  Either I am getting too old, or kids are not as responsible anymore.  One and her friend kept me up until 4am.  First, I had to go out twice to make sure the campfire was put out.  Friends were still here way past the time they should have been picked up, and oh, I had been up since 5:30am.

Hubby fell asleep at 9:30pm (which is the cut-off time I recommended for the bonfire, but was quickly ignored).  I ended up the one up and oh, I am not in a good mood this morning.   The one friend allowed to stay over, is sleeping peacefully on the sofa with our youngest.  Let's just say, I'm not being quiet in the kitchen this morning (snort).  I think I will accidentally bang a few pans around, and bake some smelly bacon and eggs.

We have lots of work to do that didn't get done, but the one sleeping (and the others who are home) will be soon out tying up tomato plants, helping take a load to recycling.....yeah, the fun is done, and now work will resume.

Remember the kids that stayed up too late and/or didn't get picked up on time to top the list of "Not Getting Invited Again".
I hope everyone has a great holiday, and a safe one too.
Remember your pets tonight if you life in an area that has fireworks.
God bless.

Thanks RB. I like the "not get invited" list idea too.

I would have doused that fire and had them call their parents to come and get them! You, of all people, need your rest! I know they're just kids but what about their parents?

Sam I Am, there won't be a bonfire here anytime soon. They learned their lesson.
