Random Tidbits ~ Camper Everything ~ More Cleaning

Yesterday's chores were still getting worked on when the kids got home from school.  I had to get everything washed and on the line as rain (storms) are expected today.

I got all the rugs washed and dried too.  Speaking of rugs, our 18 year-old daughter took the peach colored (crocheted in cotton yarn) rug for her dorm.  I just read somewhere that they cannot have rubber backed rugs, so that worked out nicely.  So, if you kiddo is heading to college, a handmade crocheted rug would come in handy for her/him.  The ones you see on my clothesline are from old sheets, old jeans, and scrap cotton yarn.  They all wash up nicely too.

I forgot to dump my ice trays and bag it, so I could freeze all the organic collards I had yesterday.  I managed to get half of them froze.  I have more to freeze today.

The ladies and Sparta have been so happy these last few days.  They heads are bopping up and down all day long eating up critters, rolling in the dirt, and running around.
I love being able to see them all day long now.  They hang out with me when I put laundry on the line or work in the garden.

I'm cutting herbs as quick as they dry, filling up my jar of peppermint, restocking my sage, and soon rosemary.

Good thing I had enough homemade meatballs in the freezer for dinner.  Which I successfully reduced by half when I made it, and still had enough to deliver some to my Dad.

We were really late in our 31 mile round trip drive to deliver meals to my 84 year old Dad last night.  Either way, they got delivered.  Last week and this week, I cooked up some farm fresh eggs, and garden potatoes and included that in his meals too.

You know how we love to go camping?  I'm just sharing some fun things I got recently.  Well, on my road trip back from dropping Daughter at college, I found these!  Air fresheners for the car.  I don't normally use stuff like this, but they are both made with lemon and jasmine essential oils.  I can use them in the camper, the car, in a closet, etc.

I love this clothespin-magnetic clip too.  I bet I could make some of these if I could find the wooden camper cut-outs.  I use it to hold up recipes.  My tall fruit basket is metal, so it holds the recipe up high for us tall folks.

And I just love my new re-useable shopping bag too. It's made from 80% recycled plastic bottles too.  It's sturdier than most of my grocery/shopping bags too.

Speaking of camping, Hubby has put the "bug" in our ears to go camping this weekend.  He just finished replacing my back brakes last night (which took two nights to do because he works full time), and now has to fix his truck.  I just remember this morning I heard a knocking noise from the right side of his truck.  I'm pretty sure we won't be camping as expected this weekend.

It will be a weekend of truck repairs, taking one daughter to get new contacts, and restocking our honey supply.

And since the rain is back, we have plans to clean one fridge completely out - wiping it down spotless so I can store my potatoes in there (that is my make-shift root cellar right now).

And....and...I keep saying "and" because I feel like it is taking forever to get the big barn project started, we might even get started on tearing it down.  I've already taken off some red barn siding to make a few signs for myself.

Have a great weekend!

You are indeed a busy bee. I too think you just might have to postpone the camping.
Kim, I have a feeling his wheel bearing in the truck needs replaced. Not sure until he gets his truck home. Camping will be another weekend sadly.

I love your herb drying rack! I have mine hanging off my light fixture in the dining room, since my usual hanging place - laundry room - is drying onions. Hear you on the auto repairs - I'm about to have the fourth wheel bearing replaced tomorrow. Thank goodness there are only four wheels on my car.

I'm curious....why the rule about no rubber backed rugs? I only like the rubber backed as I don't want to fall and the other ones are mighty slippery.
Sorry you're having car/truck problems. I've had all kinds of mechanical problems this summer and they are costly. I hope you get a camping trip in this fall. Have you been doing this for your Dad for a long time? What a great daughter you are. Have a great weekend....rain or shine!
Sam I am, I am not really sure on the rugs. Dad used to eat dinner with me for years, but after moving twice, we eventually started to deliver when we moved here.
Susan, he just did the brake lines on his truck recently too.

RB, we'd be cutting more wood this weekend, but Hubby's truck had more repairs.
I love seeing all your brightly colored rugs hanging out to dry. ;)
I have several that I've made and they're great! So versatile and comfy underfoot too.
Patricia, thank you. I want to make two more for the utility room this winter.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
