Fall Camping Trip

I'm excited to say, that we got another fall camping trip in this year.  Hubby and I decided to camp the first night by ourselves.  Woot!  Oh, we needed the time alone.  It was a relaxing, romantic, camping date night.  And surprisingly, I did not take my camera this time.

The second night we picked up a few stragglers - 2 kiddos.

Although it had rained a bit, we relaxed in the camper, reading, knitting, drawing, one kiddo doing school homework, and chatting.  After the rain stopped we started up the fire, and had more fun with s'mores and such.

The nights got down to the 40's, and even so, we hunkered in for the weekend, and enjoyed what may be our last camping trip this season.

This time I baked homemade buttermilk cornbread, and some chili (in anticipation for rain and lack of a campfire), ahead of time.

One funny to share - our awning had not been at a correct slant to drain off the rain and filled with water.  I started to move the legs, and he said, "no I will get it."  Well, he got it all right.  Ha ha ha ha!  He was in slippers and was standing under it.  He let the water off and "wooooosh!"  Off it went, soaking his feet.  When I ran around the truck to see, he was hopping on one foot and one slipper remained alone, flooded with rain water.  It was mighty cold water too.  He proceeded to say, "I guess I shouldn't have done that" in a very calm voice.  Which I responded (along with the girls) with a round of laughter and almost pee'd my pants.  Good think he had extra socks. Ha ha ha ha!   Ah, I guess you had to be there.

The weather was very nice on Sunday, so I was able to wash all the camper bedding, and dry it completely.

Rain is in the forecast today, so I plan to pop the camper back up later this week, sweep it out, and restock the linens.

Don't you just love camping. We didn't get in as much as we usually do. Good for you getting in some Fall camp time.

Glad you were able to camp one more time as I feel Winter is closing in early everywhere this year.

I so admire people who can "camp". The closest I ever get to camping nowadays is leaving my blow dryer at home. I guess that's because Marine Corp boot camp back in 1969 was enough "camping" to last me for the rest of my lifetime. LOL

God bless.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
