Another Rescued Kitten

This little guy was rescued yesterday.  I was up at 4:00am and could not sleep.  When I went to the kitchen, I could hear this high pitched meow coming from the very front window.

I tried to see which cat it was, using a flashlight, but could not.  I did see our barn cat Tim, so I thought maybe it was him.

Later that afternoon, the kids came running, saying "you gotta come see this."  My son said, "I thought I heard something this morning."

We, at first glance, thought it may be blind, or have an eye injury the way he held his head to the side.  Once we got him in the cat carrier we saw that he may have been hurt by someone tossing him out their car window, while driving by.  He was underneath a large evergreen that is not far off the road.  It makes me sick that people do this to animals.

It's a poor photo, but you can see the little guy is hurt.  My son was able to drive him to the Humane Society for a $30.00 donation.  It's sad we have to pay to get him help, but it's better than a larger vet bill, and this little guy gets a new life.

Speaking of donations, my one daughter is participating in a fundraiser to raise money for the same Humane Society.  They have taken the two kittens we've rescued this year.  Hop on over to her blog to help donate to the yearly Mutt Strut.

She would very much appreciate any donations.  So would the Humane Society. Someone had to help these animals get a new chance at a good life.

Does anybody know of a place to take rescued kitten? I have been getting little kittens maybe 6 weeks old who keep coming near my yard and i have 3 rottweilers and am scared they will hurt the babies, not on purpose but the kitties are little and they are very big. please help me find them homes. I have one now that appears to be a female tortoisshell. call 813-715-4579 thank you.
Dorie call the Humane Society in your county (or any nearby). If there is no Mom, they usually will take them in and care for them.

call the county dog warden. they will tell you what is available in your neck of the woods.
if you get a rude person call the county courthouse and ask there.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
