On the Hook

The latest granny square for my "book" blanket.  I try to match the colors the best I can, and with what yarn I already have.  I just have at join it to the blanket.  The book is being passed on to one of the kids, so another book out the door and off the shelf.

That's an interesting idea. I've seen temperature scarves and here's another record keeping idea in yarn. Nice!

Why is it feast or famine with library holds?! I had to finish one by today but I can’t even start Ina Garten’s “Be Ready When the Luck Happens” because it’s due today. Ugh. Back to the bottom of the waiting list.

I have good news too: my new Wolf dual fuel stove gets delivered late this afternoon! I haven’t had a working oven since early December! I miss baking and roasted veggies. Both my guy and I want meatloaf too. That will be tomorrow’s dinner. I use the Natasha’s Kitchen recipe made free form.
Leigh, if you go back a few posts, I have more books I finished with more granny squares. It is a new fun way to use up scrap yarn too.
Katie C, that is great you are getting the stove. I can't imagine not being able to roast vegetables. I at least hope you had other ways to cook. That is good news.

Yes, on the library holds and such. It is nice to borrow free, but sometimes it is a race against the clock.
Was the book good? This is a fun project!

I love how this square turned out! What a fun project! My latest project has been doing some spring cleaning which isn't as fun haha. We are having our carpets cleaned today so that will be a treat. Can't wait to see what you make next!
Far Side of Fifty, I enjoyed the book. It is his life experiences in relation to reference to the Bible. Like a devotional sort of. Pretty good stories in it.
Thanks Jackie, I am crocheting a granny square for each book I finish reading, then making a join as you go blanket with them.
What a fun idea! I've been thinking of making a memory blanket with the scraps from socks that I knit.
The book blanket is a clever idea!
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage, thanks. I am so motivated to read books that I own, and more that were gifted and borrowed. It's been a lot of fun to be honest.
Anne in the kitchen, thank you. Even my husband is excited about this blanket being made. He's probably more happy that I'm giving all of my books that I read to the kids ha ha ha!

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
