Happy Homemaker Monday

The weekend brought a lot of work.  Hubby worked on the car repair  (cost of parts were around $200.00), while I did the much needed grocery shopping, and bedroom closet cleaning.

The car is still being worked on, but will have to stay at the garage (extended family) until this coming weekend.

I'm glad I dove into the closet.  I now have all the yarn organized and stored in plastic totes.  I am told to never say I need to buy yarn (bwahahaha!).  Oh, but I am not done in the closet yet.  I found more UFO's, and a lot of other lost things.  I'll be in there finishing it up this week, but Hubby (still) needs to purge his clothing.  It's a good think I haven't moved the totes upstairs just yet.  I keep finding more yarn to put in the totes, ha ha!

I made a magnetic mini clip board to attach to the metal shelving in my closet.  I am writing down all UFO's I find to keep better track of what needs finished.

My second oldest child turned 26 over the weekend.  Sigh....hard to believe.  My oldest turns 28 in a few months.  Double sigh....

Today I am joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

The weather outside . . .

Rain, 32°F, foggy.

How I am feeling this morning . . .
I feel like I'm getting a head cold.  The weather here is bouncing up and down and so hard to deal with.  It will get very cold again this coming weekend.

On my mind . . .
The car, our youngest daughter's regionals (contest, first step to getting her cosmetology license) coming up (if she passes, she gets to go to state next), and the wood supply.  We are going to need more for the weekend.  This weather is like a thunder-snow-nado type week.

On the breakfast plate . . .

Broccoli, cheese and egg bake, organic black coffee.  The recipe is online and is so good!  So simple too.

On the reading pile . . .

On the TV . . .
What If, Netflix

On the to-do list . . .
-laundry
-dishes
-put dinner in the crock pot

On the menu . . .
-Turkey/zucchini meatballs, marinara sauce, peas
-Crock pot Chicken Cacciatore, Brussel Sprouts or roasted veggies
-Cauliflower stuffed peppers
-Chicken sausage sheet pan dinner
-Broccoli/egg breakfast casserole
-Sweet potato/black bean frittata

What I am creating . . .

A set of sunflower cup coasters, and trying to catch up on UFO's (a scrap lapghan), and some cross bookmarks.  I'm also putting together a memory book for a Valentine's gift to my husband.  The mini-photo album was only $1.12, and Im using scrap booking supplies to create it.  I'm also about to start a new baby blanket for a friend of the family.  I just need to check what colors I have before I haul the yarn upstairs.

From the camera . . .

Snow moon.  While I was taking pictures of it, I distinctly heard a coyote out back.

Looking around the house . . .
I need to move totes of yarn from the living room to the upstairs spare bedroom.

Chore I am not looking forward to today . . .
Moving the totes

To relax this week I will . . .
Crochet and maybe read.

Prayers . . .
An extended family member named Brandon (husband's side of the family), Mom (she has her first visit at Cleveland Clinic today)

Your breakfast looks delicious! I'll have to try it sometime! I hope that you get your car back soon, ours just got out of the shop last week and it was quite a pain!

Your weather photo is gorgeous. I could easily see that in a frame and hanging up somewhere. Sounds like we've all got that see-saw back and forth weather pattern. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Thanks Stacy, it has been driving me nuts not having a vehicle lately.
Jean, that's a great idea for the photo. I will have to get it printed and framed. Have a nice week.

I was once told the way to say it is "I have everything I need to get started." That leaves an opening if you "need" something more:-) Thought that was pretty clever.
Thanks Sandra, I hope it's up and running this weekend.

My goodness I did smile at the amount of yarn boxes you have. I am betting you won't have the right colour for your next project lol! Love the cross it would make an amazing bookmark for a bible.

I always love your breakfast casseroles. The UFO list is a great idea. I enjoy your Monday posts as it motivates me to get my rear in gear! LOL! BTW, where did you get the pattern for the cross bookmark? I have been looking for one just like that to make for the grands and for gifts. I tried to get the next Joanna Fluke...I'm on Cherry Cheesecake Murder but Thriftbooks didn't have it...boo hoo!
Thanks mamasmercantile, I have all the yarn but one color lol!
Sam I am I got the pattern online. I'll see if I can locate it.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
