Trip to the Big City ~ More Booties

The weekend went pretty quickly, although we had to get out of the house, even with these ridiculous temps and wind lately.

Daughter had Winter Homecoming Friday night, which if you have girls, you know you get the "I need it" list last minute.  We ran to one of the "Big Cities" in search for neon knee socks (it was a casual glow in the dark event), and I took that trip to an advantage and went to the craft store.

Saturday we had a lunch date with our 19 year-old and her boyfriend.  We have only met him once over the course of a year or more.  I can finally tell you the bad news about this daughter - she lost her job as manager of the movie rental store.  They are officially closing.  The previous movie rental store she used to work at cut their hours, and I'm sure will close as well.  Luckily, she was re-hired at her other previous job and is applying elsewhere as well.

We ran errands and forgot to pick up chicken feed.  We were so tired when we arrived back home, we literally got into PJ's and collapsed in front of the TV.

Even with the busy weekend, I got more crocheted items done, although I should be working on pot holder sets right now. I'm just working on my PHD (Projects Half Done), ha ha!

I got these cuties all stitched up, and am searching for a bonnet pattern for boys and girls now.  What got me on crocheting the first pair was the fact my step-daughter is pregnant with her 3rd child.

Not sure what's on the agenda for today, although we will either be cutting wood in this frigid weather or hunting down someone that already has split wood.

I'll also be ordering seeds I forgot to order.  I might as well pick something new to grow this summer too.

I was gifted these spice jars from our 19 year-old daughter.  They are two different sizes, and I am excited for this year's garden(s).

The booties are darling and I love your new spice jars. They will definitely come in handy. Today is only Sunday...the weekend's not over yet! LOL!

Sounds like your extended family is keeping you busy. Cold and wet here in Appalachia as well. Spring has to come some day.

Those booties are adorable! Thinking about gardening and what to plant helps add a little fun to February, doesn't it? I love those jars!

Beautiful booties, such a lovely pattern. The spice jars are such a thoughtful gift.
Harry, I sure hope spring is around the corner.
Thanks Henny Penny, thinking of the garden sure is a delight.
Thanks mamasmercantile, I like that they have a ribbon to keep them on tiny feet.

Apples and Tomatoes Oh My!

The early morning weather here has been downright chilly.  One morning it was 42 degrees.  Flower beds have been weeded.  The herb garden is next in line, but I do need to figure out what to do with all the rosemary plants I planted in the actual vegetable garden.  I have not mastered keeping them alive all winter indoors.  They will not survive the winter if left outside. Did any of my blog writing followers locate a better "blog" platform online?  Just curious if anyone is moving from blogger.

Under the Weather ~ What's Growing?

I have not been around in blogland much, due to being under the weather after I pushed myself way to far one day.  I have to remember we cannot do it all in one day.  Thank goodness for teas and tinctures, and healing foods (and rest).  We are feeling better. As for our blogs being used for advertising on many websites, and so forth (I can't see any other reason for the source of views: howstuffworks, dominospizza, mayoclinic {not the blog readers interested in my actual blog}) the numbers continue to climb.  I have not found a way to "opt" out either.  If any of you find a new way to avoid this, blog elsewhere, find a new platform etc, please be sure to share.   If your blog has ads, you are are not going to complain, ha ha!  You are probably making a bucko-bucks with all these visitors to your blog. Okay, back to the update post . . .

16 Weeks Until Christmas

It's not hard to believe that we are traveling closer to the winter holidays.  I'm trying to focus on enjoying every single day until then, but I am fitting in a few snippets of holiday preparing.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.  It's hard to believe it's the last day of August. I have not yet gotten rid of the links to all the advertisers using my blog posts, but again, still working on it. However, my profile has gone from my blog, and while I am in settings, it is not able to add as a "gadget" to the blog.  Weird things are happening.   Google had a data breach recently as well, so gmail users were advised to change passwords.  Not sure what else is going on, but just in case you are wondering why my "profile" is not on my blog any longer.   Okay, back to the Christmas countdown post . . .
