Yesterday, the big shin-dig was watching this daughter graduate. The two on her sides are her siblings (missing a few). And all three do not have their natural hair color, ha ha!
The graduation ceremony lasted a bit over 2 hours. Our bums were pretty sore sitting in bleachers. Oye. Way too long for us.
We were told we could ride over on the Harley, and that is what we did. After that we came home and put our feet up for the night. We all enjoyed dinner on the porch and crashed for the night. All of us were tired. Very tired.
The rain never arrived, so I have to high-tail it out to water then exercise (late, late late at this, but it's my first day back after vacation).
Rabbits were fired upon again, but I must be faster. They were in the potatoes last night. They were in the tomatoes this morning, and while our now graduated daughter was taking both Zuri and King out, caused a ruckus. The dogs spotted the rabbits, who were sitting in the tomatoes, and the dogs went spot on after them, dragging Daughter behind. Literally. She came in and said, "you can shoot those rabbits!" showing me the now missing skin on her arm. I'm thinking it is well over time for rabbit stew.
I wasn't going to put the scare crow back up, but now I will have to as well. It was housing wasps, and year after year I would have to dodge wasps (they would build nests inside the straw I stuffed it with) to work in the garden. I will have to gut her and re-clothe her now. Hopefully I will have time for that.

Charlie nearly pulled my arm out of its socket on yesterday's walk when she saw a big brown hare...the rabbits are getting braver I think! My chicken wire is helping me sleep at night, so far it's working out really well, though it was a heck of a lot of work. Mind you, my garden is likely much smaller than yours!
I thought I was covered, having chicken wire strung around my raised beds. That was, until I discovered rabbit poo IN the beds. Next year, it's going to be electric netting. We go to too much time and expense to feed rabbits!
Rain, I felt so bad for her, but she said the rabbits were just sitting there in the garden and not running away when they saw her and the dogs. I hope the dogs ran them off to a new home. Yes, my garden is rather huge. I run out of room each year though. I hate to say it, but it should be larger.
Susan, I will have to look into that netting. Yes, they ate down the tops of a few sweet potatoes, some bell peppers and a few other things. Grrr. I'm on patrol now.
You need a dachsund! Annie has killed 4 baby rabbits much to my chagrin! It makes me sick...those poor little babies and their Mother....it literally makes me sick to my stomach but we have no rabbits in our yard. This hasn't happened for several years but they must have forgotten about our little Annie...the bunny killer!
Sam I Am, our barn cat Sapphire, has caught all the babies and eaten then, but the one, and the Mother. I was secretly hoping she'd get them all this year.
So sorry...I got caught up with the rabbits! Congratualtions to your daughter!
Thank you Sam!
